Tkachuk would be long gone from Winnipeg already if we drafted him. No chance he would have stayed.

Plus without drafting Laine, we would not have Vilardi, Iafallo or Kupari today. Not to mention how much fun Laine was for fans his first two seasons.

In hindsight I am glad we were able to snag Laine and not Tkachuk. If given a redo I would make the same pick 10/10 times.
even Laine's circumstance was far different than PLD. Laine was legitimately a sweet person who was struggling with mental health issues and toxicity. Not saying PLD has suffered zero mental health issues, but everything suggests he's an entitled opulent freak.

Hard to say as winning is different, but overall I agree. I think tkachuck is overrated too

Annual reminder that if we don't win the draft lotto in 2016 we don't draft Laine and we very likely would have drafted Tkachuk.

If you look back at the pre draft threads you will see plenty of wild takes on how drafting Tkachuk would have been terrible because of things.

Now he sits 2nd in scoring from that draft behind Matthews and has a cup
Do you actually think he would still be playing here?

Don't get to see many but was up for this one. Great game played at incredible pace and intensity. Had they not gotten whistle happy I'm not sure the game would have stopped at all within the 3 frames.

55 seems to come alive against PoMo -- for all the love and long shifts he got from the Great Salesman, Scheif does not seem to remember his former coach with much affection.

Great game. Great team.

Ehlers playing 4 mins less a game than scheif and connor and only 2 pts back. Impressive
If.jomo.finds his shooting mojo then this team is off the charts
Great seeing fourth line averaging 11 mins not 6...
Names faceoff percentage at 50... sure seems like we found our 2c
Scheif and connor on pace for 50 ehlers 40 vilardi and nino 30
Advanced stats are not kind to demelo this year... wonder if we try miller on top pairing to give him a break
Names line is our best possession line

Ehlers is cashing in on the PP. After cashing in on San Jose. This is the most enjoyment I have ever got watching the Jets on the PP. Revamping the entire process with more movement has paid dividends, and these boards were a sounding board for that for so many years.

4th line is earning ice time and the matchups get harder with mrore ice time, but it definitely balances out the stamina of players around them that get less ice time as a consequence.

I think Namestnikov is doing alright he's the most reliable defensive player on that line. Faceoff improvement starts the line with the puck more.

De Melo is safe for now I think. Not sure Miller is a better defensive option he's made some giveaways under pressure. When Heinola comes back he will be looking to move the puck through him I suspect and he may get some more shots by having a defense partner who can sustain some offensive zone pressure.

Possession in terms of shots or zone time? Two different metrics.

He would have headed south by now. I don't think mommy being from Winnipeg or daddy being a Jets alumni would have made him commit here long term. However, perhaps we would have won the cup in 2018 with him in the line up?

Question: Did any of you that goes to the game, got a fan shot like byTSN, and any of the sports highlights during the game. Sometimes they zoom in on the fans?
It’s happened but they usually pre setup if it is more than a random fan shot. I’ve seen them organize a group of kids to dance together to be on camera. I just moved out of the way.

I wanted them to draft Tkachuk at 2nd OA.

Just a heads up. While I have created a GDT for the game against the Penguins on Friday, I have come up completely blank for the Saturday game against Nashville...

I have ideas, but none are coming together. If someone could make a GDT for the Nashville game, I would appreciate it...:thumbu:

That was a fun game to be at. It seems like the crowd energy is back. It's back to like when they first came back. I love it.

Strong game by the team against a Panthers team that didn't go away last night.

Selling tickets. Look at available tickets going fairly far ahead and there are not nearly as many to choose from as there were last year.

It seems the fans are starting to come back and really be energized by the group.

I think we've already had 3 sellouts and we didn't get the first one before end of December last year.
