i don't even understand how people can be making these arguments after we literally just saw a different version of our top line dominate for two months leading to us being the number 1 team in the NHL.
Some people are attached to their biases, some think they know better than the best available evidence, some defer to authority and some just like to argue. I've been around long enough to know that most don't change their minds. Others--let's call them students of the game--seek and react differently to new information, and are actually pleasantly surprised if it dispels their pre-existing views.
BTW--there is a big difference between people who use evidence to present contrary views and those who just criticize willy nilly, as per McIntyre's article . Hockey is not rocket science and newer evidence is more easily understood by smart non-coaches than by stubborn old-school NHL coaches.
