Boston also stubbornly spent 8 years trying to develop Zboril...but it doesn't look like he blocked any better defenseman and he only got into 76 NHL games.True - but you are comparing it to one of the biggest "oopsies" ever.
It's probably the guys who have the puck on their sticks the most. And Logan Stanley, of course...Would be interesting to see which of our stars turns puck over least.
No stats for ehlers? It's probably the guys who have the puck on their sticks the most. And Logan Stanley, of course...
Lol, I just checked and it's true!
Giveaways:
Scheifele 68
Connor 58
Pionk 57
DeMelo 56
Morrissey 51
Stanley 44
Giveaways/60:
Stanley 4.24
Miller 3.93
Fleury 3.93
Scheifele 3.80
Samberg 3.50
Connor 3.27
Good thing we've got this guy locked up for another season...
I can't say I watch a lot of Penguins hockey, but a guy who is 6'3 175 lbs, can that guy box out the front of the net? PK metrics aren't great, which would be a concern. He's a very reliable D man that will give you 22 minutes a night of near mistake-free play. I wouldn't go higher than a 2nd though. A 3rd and a 5th sounds about right.
Ehlers is 9th in Giveaways, 7th in Giveaways/60.No stats for ehlers?
I love how you use 0.75 turnovers every 60 minutes of play as somehow at all significant lolIt's probably the guys who have the puck on their sticks the most. And Logan Stanley, of course...

Agree. Team Canada blew it by not having the highest Canadian scorer in the NHL on the team.Scheifele is elite. Last years goals wasn't a fluke, he's a 40 + goal center. 30 goals before February is wild. Carry on doing it in the playoffs and he can lead them all the way like 2018. He is the first draft pick of this team and it's most important player imo.
Mort time to put the past behind you. You try and learn from the past and move on. You can’t let yourself get stuck there. I’m trusting that Arniel has the team looking forward not dwelling on past failures. That "piss poor analysis" is directly related to our poor PO performance the last 2 years. We finished 4th last year and are currently 1st in regular season play. Jets are a very good team in spite of those 2 small size samples. Of course some people will say the samples are only small because we are bad, but Come on. Look at the record.
I think after 2 consecutive years of questionable resilience in the playoffs, it's fair to wonder what will happen this year. They seemed like a contender last year, too.Mort time to put the past behind you. You try and learn from the past and move on. You can’t let yourself get stuck there. Nope. We play the best team in the East which is a great measuring stick. Then we play 2 at home in front of fans forking out their money to support their team. Now them coming up with a nagging injury after next Fridays game that keeps them out of the pretend tournament that is a different matter.Should we give Connor, Morrissey, and Hellebuyck the week off heading into the Four Nations?
Turnovers are part of the game just as the yare at any good bakery. It is where, when and what the turnover leads to that is the issue.I love how you use 0.75 turnovers every 60 minutes of play as somehow at all significant lol
"Yeah, Samberg turns the puck over WAY less than Stanley... *does calculations*... based on their usage, in a 21 game span, Stanley will turn the puck over 21 times, and Samberg will turn it over ONLY 20 times... that's 4 more turnovers per season! Stanley sucks!"
Full calculations based on :
Stanley 14:00 per night at 5v5 for 82 games: 81.1 turnovers per season
Samberg 18:00 per night at 5v5 for 82 games: 86 turnovers per season
Never change, @Gm0ney
Keep cherry picking stats to support your position and inflating their effect
Looking back on last year I am not sure they were as much of a contender once they added Tofolli and to a lesser extent Monoghan. It messed with chemistry and team speed including Perfetti sitting out. It also helps that every player o nth top line is having a career year.I think after 2 consecutive years of questionable resilience in the playoffs, it's fair to wonder what will happen this year. Also a left hander and believe me they never see it coming especially if you take a right hander stanceAs a fellow southpaw, I can say that right-handed people just aren't ready for left-handed haymakers coming at them...
Jets make it to the Western conference final and that's a very successful season. The Leafs might not make the playoffs the way that overrated team is playing.....Looking back on last year I am not sure they were as much of a contender once they added Tofolli and to a lesser extent Monoghan. I am still concerned that certain teams can use "the blueprint" to tame the whiteout but they would play those teams in the WCF and I shudder to say it but the Stanley Cup (which is the leafs to lose) .
Well, other than the Islanders 6 game winning streak.
We better cut some other D-men, then....It's probably the guys who have the puck on their sticks the most. And Logan Stanley, of course...

I want 55 to get snubbed by Team Canada every year. He has been unreal since the snub.Scheifele is elite. Last years goals wasn't a fluke, he's a 40 + goal center. 30 goals before February is wild. You mean the ones coughing up fewer giveaways and giveaways/60? Interesting strategy...We better cut some other D-men, then....

I said maybe but they have lost 3 in a row and are 4-6 in their last 10 games. Lets just say it's a good thing they are in the eastern conference because if they were in the western conference they would be cooked.I agree a WCF appearance would be great and is 2 rounds more than I expected at the start of this season but to say the leafs 'might' not make the playoffs is a little out there.
