Post-Game Talk: Jets 5 - Flames 2

Man I dislike the Flames. Dirty team without Lowry to settle scores.

Glad the Jets PP buried them with the chances they got.

Glad they got Comrie a win he deserved.

Nice to see the top line gunning again.

And the 2nd line make some nice plays.

Sammy and Pionk with a strong game.

I'm going to say that I like Stanley-Fleury as a pairing more than Stan-Miller or Fleury-Miller as a pair.

Josh looked pretty ill going down the hall in intermission. Hope the bug doesn't hit the team too hard.

Going to be a chippy road trip I imagine.

Keep on rolling.

Not sure I'd go that far... Flames high danger chances were mostly against Fleury-Stan... they are getting better but Miller is by far the best option on that third pairing

It is not and was not the travel. it is and was playing against certain teams that forecheck the Jets, clog the middle and keep the forwards to the outside. No doubt the Jets are playing well enough to win the past few games without the captain. It is still going to come down to playoff matchups at the end of the day.
I've been following along for awhile and you've been wrong about pretty much everything for at least two months. I can bring them all up individually, I've got em locked and loaded if you care to go through them with me. Wouldn't a "realist" be correct more often than not??? 2 months of daily incorrect posts??? I feel like that's worth a look in the mirror at least.

Four of our losses in that 13 game stretch where we went 6-6-1 were against Nashville, St Louis, Dallas and CBJ

Those were all teams we beat when we were well rested, so it can't possibly be their style of play or else we never would have beaten them

Wow ! I a flattered you have been following me. To err is human , to forgive is devine.
I hope you can forgive me and point out what I have been wrong about? In general I know which teams the Jets will beat and lose too plus their schedule also is a give away for predicting W and L's. I have said I am trying to enjoy the pre-real season success and not look to far ahead. I also think the last 2 games were closer than the score indicated. I am concerned about the 3 game road trip and smell a 1-2 record but hope I am wrong.

Pionk is having a career year, yes it's a contract year and yes he is going to get paid, do the Jets pay up and does he continue he great play for years to come, do the Jets take that chance? Him and Samberg really make a really good pair.

Also interesting who we lost to. La being the only team in playoffs.

pretty sure that poster is just a troll, all he does is predict losses, says we lost because the other team played playoff style hockey and predicts that the leafs will win the cup

They will win some, lose some, look good, look bad but bottom line is there are teams , Kings, Knights, Sharks, Yetis they do not match up well against.
I am looking forward to seeing how they do against WSH.

I am no troll. I have been a Jets fan and suffered the pain plus I have forgot more about them than you know. I do not insult you so back off on the insults. I can be a real fan but point out my concerns or think the Leafs will win the cup. It is my prerogative as Bobby Brown sang. You are free to keep your Jets goggles and underoos on. Go jets goooo!!

Looking at the prediction contest I would guess you really don't know which teams they will beat or not.

I'd bet my paycheque it was alot because of travel.

I agree that the Jets struggle with LA and VGK

But you didn't answer me as to why they beat some teams while well rested but lost during their insane schedule

For example, we struggled vs LA and VGK both while rested and tired. So that's more likely a stylistic thing

But you failed to account for the teams we've beat (sometimes easily) while rested but not when tired

GDT ramping up haha....

Jets have always struggled against an aggressive forecheck combined with a trap style D - thats LA and VGK etc... however this year, I have noticed that several occasions where they have weathered the storm and managed to fight back - that never used to happen.

I legit think Samberg is making a huge difference for Pionk... in that teams can't target him anymore and get him off his game.

Connor/Scheif are backchecking - which is huge... the shift length is still a bit worrying but whatever...

Ehlers seems the healthiest I've seen him and committed to a defensive role as needed. Kupari has the speed that most of our other 4Cs have not had in the past

Most importantly, this version of the Jets doesn't seem to believe their own hype like other years... you'd see stretches where the Jets played like they were just automatically going to win - not so much this year.

Add a 2C with speed and Jets 'should' make a deep run

Yeah, I'm not even sure how anyone can deny that

I just took a quick peak and only 2 teams (MIN and VAN) have better road records than home records. A bunch are even-ish, but there are 8-10 who are much better at home than on the road

Even CHI is 10-14-2 at home but 5-15-3 on the road

I am glad that a lot of you folks liked the GDT for this game.

I like to do the GDTs against the Flames because I live in here now but also because the games against them are usually SO FRIGGING BORING so we all could use some added enjoyment to get through them.

The Jets played well (even though Greg Millen thought the Flames were just sooo amaaazing ) and won the exact way we are used to seeing them win: by asserting their style of play on the other team and waiting for them to mess up.

It was a pretty safe bet that the Flames would mess up, LOL.

Next.
