I'd much rather have Schenn Fleury but it's nice to know we have 2 more bona fide nhl defensemen available.

I don't think you sit Schenns experience, physicality, and simple play in the playoffs. He's the best of the 4. I wouldn't doubt he helped settle down the boys in the first intermission.
You're right, Schenn isn't coming out. Stanley, maybe but they've shown a lot of faith in him, and he was solid last night.

Fleury are Miller are both capable of getting the job done in this series if we need them.

We all know it will be schenn stan.

Only allowed 17 shots - exactly how they need to play.
Exactly right, and if the Jets can play their defensive game like they did, and hold the opposition to 17 - 20 shots per game, we’d have a great chance to beat anyone.

I can't see Arniel switching things up. Stanley was very solid with a 57.14 CF%, 66.67 HDCF% and a 75.26 xGF%. Any team will take that all day long from a bottom pairing player. And he added a nice physical presence.

The Jets didn't even really try Fleury-Schenn in the regular season so I wouldn't expect them to test that pair together in the playoffs.

Fleury seems like one of those guys you can see what coaches and scouts like about them but somehow just haven't put it together.

So what do we do, then? Do we feel comfy with Miller playing his off side?

Dylan Samberg did not play a single game on his off hand until like game 72 last season, and afaik he had never played his off hand with the Moose either yet was made to lay on his off hand in the playoffs. Seems the Jets are more than than happy to play guys on their off hands when the goal is to get Stan in the lineup.

Who is playing on their offside?

They started their narrative after last year and are going to keep it going. They kept it going at the start of the season, the whole 4 Nations and now in the playoffs. It beats watching the Jets or following them, or doing any research. All we can hope for is Hellebuyck shoves it down their throats.
If the Jets were ever to accomplish the ultimate goal in June, I shudder to think of the backhanded comments they’d get despite being the last team standing.

Sportsnet wouldn’t be genuine in any praise. It would kill them and the NHL to see the unthinkable happen.

I wanted them to try Schenn and Miller in regular season. Not trying in tells me they aren't going to try it in the playoffs.

Stan's mistakes seem more glaring, whether everyone is waiting to scrutinize him or they are that big of a mistake I am not sure. I do know that most of the time when other D men make a mistake, they are quicker to recover than Stan.

I wonder if Arnie tries a different partner for Schenn in St. Louis where he can't get the line matchups he wants?

The most glaring mistake was Schenn bobbling the St. Louis second goal. None of Stan’s mistakes ended up in the back of the net.

The one that hit his skate and bounced out front?
Yep. That was the most glaring play. Stan turned it over and it resulted in a mediocre scoring attempt by St. Louis. Yet, many jets turned it over or failed to clear it. The 1st goal was caused by an overcommitting by jets pk unit and failing to get it out which created a 2 on 1 in the slot.

Another time Stan turned it over by not getting it out of the zone which resulted in another easy save.

The fans at the game made a big deal out of it. Therefore, I think coaches are less worried then the fans on here and he’ll need to do a worse job before they yank him.

Before it hit Schenn's skate the shot defected off Barron's stick ... nice couple of bounces for the Blues. I noticed a few times whenever there was a rebound in front of Binnington it never ended up on a Jet stick. Good defending by the Blues but they got a few more bounces than the Jets. That's hockey a game of breaks lucky bounce ... just look at Scheifele's goal.

Just saying that if the Jets want to play Miller-Schenn pairing, then "Miller hasn't played his offhand all season" reasoning doesn't really apply considering how they did things at the end of last season.

All that said, I prefer Miller-Schenn pairing but I prefer Stanley over Fluery.

I'm pretty sure the coaches will point out his mistakes and how to prevent them from happening again.
He only played 13:22 plus he had the most give aways on the team which is not good.
But as long as the Jets are winning and he is not costing the Jets games he will be in the lineup.

I mean stan played 13 mins - first and last shifts in the game... heavily sheltered and got some pk time because samberg and pionks penalties...

Arniel double shifted samberg and jomo in the third with schenn...

Stan did not have enough mins in the game to get an actual 5v5 sample size... i dont think he was terrible but he was hanging on for dear life - not dominating by any means

I am always curious how they define turnovers. If you try to shoot it up the side but a guy keeps it in is that a turnover?
I am not the most observant I just notice the ones that result in what looks like a good scoring opportunity.

But was he double shifting them because we were chasing and wanted to give our most offensive d extra minutes only time will tell.
