Am I the only one here that thinks Luke Schenn is just going through the motions? He definitely isn’t playing tough or with any emotion. Hate to see guys healthy scratched while he plays like he would rather be golfing.

He’s out of position far too often, which for a guy of his foot speed is a problem.

I would be perfectly fine replacing him with Miller at this point.

I would rather see Colin Miller than Luke Schenn at this point. They bought him in for experience and clearing the net but last couple of games he's been invisible but Stanley/Schenn aren't going after the head hunting on our top players.

Luke should have tuned up his brother over that.
I noticed a place behind our net where Schenn totally let up on a hit.
I know sometimes it's about not taking yourself out of the play but this didn't seem like that type of situation.

Perspective is funny because from their fans perspectives the refs and league are biased towards helping the Jets and we're the dirty team.
This dynamic essentially exists in all sports.
Everyone generally thinks their team is getting screwed and the other team is getting away with murder.
My maybe more balanced take is that the reffing has been insanely inconsistent.
Calling non-penalties, ignoring blatant ones.
I think both teams could present "evidence" of this both ways.
But to me the Brayden hit on Scheif contacted the chin/head and was away from the puck so interference, dirty and maybe a head shot.
But I would assume the hit that took Mark out was the self inflicted wound with Faksa.
55 could have tried to avoid that one instead he lowered the shoulder and was on the wrong end of a car accident.

This is the thing.
1) The NHL is an entertainment organization legally..that allows them to alter games without making it a crime.
they have repeatedly admitted to refs "managing games" with where when and how they penalize teams.

2)An NBA ref took bribes to swing games and shave points for 20 years... and Nobody caught him or said anything..the league didn't notice, his co referees didn't notice. and the fans and gamblers didn't notice... he got found out on a routine tax audit.
so which is more probable?
Only One guy in One major sport in the history of modern pro sports took a bribe? Or other refs are taking money and shaving points and fixing games?

and every analysis that absolves the refs..only seems to look at what calls are made vs who and always seems to ignore the NON CALLS.

like the hit on #55...

that hit was late, he left his feet and he targeted the head with his elbow.... he missed the elbow...but the INTENT was to injure. from a repeat offender......

Scheif got what 4 games on a clean hit on the guy in the montreal series.... Schenn got zilch.

Saw this on Facebook. You gotta laugh:

Hard to lay the body when you can't keep up with who you want to hit. Slow and poor positioning isn't a good recipe to be physical. Plus he's been penalized a bunch for BS reasons in scrums so he's likely beingore conservative.

Man, every time something good happens it has to be tempered by some BS. Like Ehlers getting hurt when we clinched against Chicago.

I would go Stan - Miller at this point. Schenn isn't bringing anything special defensively and at least Miller is a threat to score.

There's a time and place for payback. Personally, I'm glad that the Jets put their emotions aside to win the game

Take the series, wait for the schedule release for next season, and on some random night in Oct or Nov next year, Tyrell Bauer coincidently makes his NHL debut vs the Blues

I agree with you Buff, mission number one is the result -- but if the game in St Louis gets out of hand score wise, there needs to be some retribution.

I'd love to see Schenn get hammered as he'd be just as effective in this series playing with or without a stick. Running around like a moron every single game.

That said, eye for an eye, one of their skill guys needs to pay the price. Robert Thomas would be ideal.

Enough is enough already with this BS.

I will guarantee you one thing. Any really tough hits on Thomas will get an over the top response from the Blues. As it should be. If you won’t protect your star players take up volleyball.

We responded by winning game 6 and being like 4-1 favourites to win the series

AlphaLackey-3PO: Sir, the possibility of successfully navigating a first round win is 4-1 favourites.

Puckatron Solo: Never tell me the odds. Unless they're kick ass odds. Sorry, I'm used to bad news. We're good geek-droid. Punch it, Hank Chewbaski.

Anything is possible of course, but literally I wouldn’t take a bet on it even if you gave me 20 to 1 odds on the pay out……that’s how little faith I have in them winning game 6 if Mark is out is the key. Blues targeted Mark all series to take him out with aggressive borderline questionable hits, they’re doing what you would expect them to do, Names as our 2C is a joke as I said before the playoffs and back to the TDL. Blues plan is clear, take out Mark the Jets 1C and they have nothing but 3c and 4C left on the team. It’s a dirty plan but a good one. If Mark doesn’t return in the series IMO we lose game 6 about 90% chance and game 7 we have about a 40% chance of winning. Imo

You are giving up way too quickly. It will be tough to lose Mark for tomorrow but we had players step up in his absence. I feel that we can have that happen again in the short term. If he's out long term then sure there is an issue.

I think good things happen if Barron centers Perfetti and Iafallo (ehlers if he's back).
I also thought they should have tried Barron with that line instead of Lowry.
Funny thing was our 4th line was so damn effective we had to keep getting them out there too.
We have lots of good guys to step in and fill a bottom 9 role but we have nothing to help offset losing Scheifele.
There's no college kid coming to save us.

I'm trying to find a clip on youtube where Rick Tocchet said in a podcast when he played with the Penguins and Mario. I forgot the team they were playing and if it was the playoffs or just a game but they were targeting Mario. They hit him every chance they got. Between whistles Tocchet goes over to their bench and told them enough is enough and to stop targeting Mario or else he would take out their top player and they never hit Mario again in that game or series. Jets needs a Tom Wilson player ... he would have stopped this crap in game 1.

I actually liked Lowry with Cole and Alex. They had some real nice shifts.

Will be interesting to see how they line things up for tomorrow if Mark is out.

One thing about Names is that while he doesn't score, he is capable of playing C "the right way", probably better at puck retrieval than Scheif. With Connor and Villardi on his wing, the scoring threat doesn't disappear without Scheifele. Definitely trying to make lemonade out of lemons here, but it's not a lost cause.

Not giving up of game 7 Mark or not, but game six seems like a long shot if no Mark.

Our centres would be

Names (1 goal in 20 games?)
Lowry (clearly injured)
Barron (really a 4C)
Gus?

That’s pretty bleak down the middle to play the Blues in StL while they have last change.

Blues are taking a running starts ... borderline charging. You are right thou Stanley or any other Jets D would get a penalty and the way the Jets PK is playing they can't afford to take that chance.
Its crazy a simple scrum and the Jets get the extra penalty ... it already happened twice but the other series its evened up all the time.

Ir won't be easy but I still think they get it done tomorrow. Helle owes his team an amazing game.
