Schiefele getting hurt on a dirty hit took so much of the excitement out of this well played game for me. Disappointed by the lack of retribution. That's your 1C and best player, you have to respond to that not just with your play but with the physical retribution.

Schenn has got to be pulled from next game for Miller. You simply can't play both him and Stan on the road and right now he is worse than Stan. That final goal where he lost a battle to 5'7 Nathan Walker underscored it.

Villardi looked good his first game back.
Yup. Theyve been targeting Schiefele all series. with questionable hits. Not sure where Lowry, Schenn, and Stanley have been. Eye for an eye. Kyrou and Thomas should be getting punished. Other than game 2 no one is making their guys pay the price. I swear the utter horse shit one sided reffing has gotten into their heads. No one wants to be overly physical. Also, Brayden Schenn is a walking piece of shit and can eat all the dicks.

If Scheifele had broken ribs, there is no way he could play. He’d have terrible pain and shortness of breath. Maybe with bruised ribs he could play ? maybe, depending on his pain tolerance.

This is where Lowry should have stepped in, and picked a fight with both those guys that hit Scheifele, as that’s Lowry’s job, or Schenn or Stanley. Lowry is supposed to be the teams policeman.

Back in the old days if you ran Yzermam, Bob Probert would be all over you and make you pay, or if you ran Gretzky, you’d be getting a mean visit from Semenko, or McSorely. Lowry not policing the ice like he should be IMO.

Given how much we've been penalized and how well the Blues PP has been doing I think it could be a coaching decision to try and limit the damage on the scoreboard.

Given how timid Lowry has been the last few games and how much that is completely unlike him, it's also possible he's also dealing with something right now and doesn't want to chance taking himself out of this series.

The Blues have been pouncing on us all over the ice and frankly I'm not sure we are as healthy as we look. If we manage to win this series we are going to be battered and bruised heading into the next round and might be easy pickings for whoever wins out of Colorado/Dallas as that series has been a lot more about the hockey than the hits.

I have a feeling they were told not to, for what reason well I can only speculate but it can't be a coincidence that neither Schenn, Lowry or Stan didn't do a single thing about any of those egregious hits and dirty plays.
Agreed. Physicality dropped off when the second period started and the benches got spoken to. Maybe the league found out about Scheifele's injury and didn't want retribution or further injuries. It's a bad look when things get so out of hand that star players are leaving the game.

It was an advantage for the Jets because they could play their game without being headhunted.

That was a gutsy win considering we had no Scheilfele for most of the game.

Great atmosphere in the building!

well, that was a desperately needed victory, but I don't like the tone of Arniel's comments about Chef's status. Sounds like concussion to me and it doesn't sound like the prognosis is very good. I suspect the boys are going to have to go to St Louis and win it without our #1C,

This Schenn Stanley pairing can’t go on if they are playing small minutes, losing matchups, and not effectively enforcing any kind of protection for our players..

Schenn and Stanley moved into the O zone after a whistle and did a little bumping and pushing and immediately got punished for it. The refs have taken out any kind of action the players can take and retribution will likely have to take place either during the game ala a dirty play or next season.

The Faska hit was clean. The Schenn it was dirty as f***. Time for Stanley to f***ing run one of their stars. Except we all know the refs will call anything against the Jets

If I was the coach, I'd tell them to do that the whole game of every player. Tell them all to Buff-smash!

Great win, but the price was very very high. Its the second time Brayden Schenn has left his feet for a head shot in the series, the first was in game one, deep in the Jets zone. If Schuffles is concussed that takes a lot of our game, as he may miss a couple of games or more. Montgomery clearly is looking for his edge, and with Jets #1 C out, he gets his wish, the fecking puck-eating stoat.

Look at the hit DoPES!!

Exactly. They are letting the Blues get away with murder during the play but have continually come down on our guys in scrums.

Very happy to not have my breakfast ruined and hoping for the same in Game Six because 2am is also wild. I hope we can get it done in their building but I would also not be surprised to see a Game 7.

Was happy to see Nino and Names with goals, they needed them. Demelo too. Can't even be mad at who scored for the Blues, I'm quietly rooting for Walker as an Australian in the league and I like that Snuggerud kid.

I hope the Scheif injury isn't too serious and he'll be back next game but was impressed with the team's compete without him. Bring on Game 6.

While i want a eye for an eye too with how the officiating has been in this series we would have for sure somehow ended up with a 5 on 3 penalty kill . I want to win the actual hockey game and series and then wave bye-bye to the Blues. We ended their long winning streak in the regular season now we will end their season as well. Annnd .....:naughty:

Exactly why I felt Jets should have taken matters into their own hands. Let's see what the bald Montgomery Harkonnen f*** would have said if Kyrou had left the game with his arm in a sling.
I miss Byfuglien for this (and many other reasons). Buff would have wrecked Schenn one or two plays later and the bullshit would have ended there. Instead we have that bald prick in St Louis chirping Arniel and the Jets.

Hopefully Mark is back next game.

A game the Jets had to win and they did but at what cost. Full marks for the pushback in this series. Back to St. Louis to finish the job.
The win was nice, but the cost is far too high - enabling late hits, enabling the worst of dirty hits (leaving the feet); by allowing it, making a case for other teams to mimic Brayden Schenn to do the same to win a series, essentially patting old Brayden Schenn on the back - thats a good job you thug; oh, and lets not forget the loss of our #1C, add on the league-wide loss of Integrity eg, confirmation that the league is just a tick over roller derby with respect to adhering to their own sets of rules, then there is the bigger look -> transitioning the series from a match based on skill, to that based on attrition due to intentional injury, reducing the Jets/Blues series to an outcome based on how many of the best players are injured, and the most egregious -> giving a platform to Montgomery allowing him to pontificate on the mechanism of 55's demise in order to protect his rancid low-life of a captain.

Feck you, NHL.

It was nice of the refs to stop the play with Nino laying on the ice after he was cross checked in the back maybe they thought Nino would get up and setup a goal like when Apple was highsticked in the face.
But it is weird why neither one of the penalties were not a penalty … another rule that does not apply to the Jets.
My hunch with the Appleton play was that it looked to to me that he skated into the high stick. Maybe the refs interpret that differently?

I know we are focusing on the Scheifele injury and some of the bullshit going on, but I need to stress how f***ing good the Jets played. Thoroughly outclassed the Blues. I don't know how we can look that good after looking so bad for 2 games.

If we bring that game again in STL, we end this series in 6.

Gotta figure Montgomery said at the beginning of this series we can't win playing straight up hockey with these Jets but we might have a chance if we hurt their best players . It's really sad actually but i guarantee you if we were Toronto the Blues would be getting penalized like crazy.
