Post-Game Talk: Jets 4 - Stars 1

  • We sincerely apologize for the extended downtime. Our hosting provider, XenForo Cloud, encountered a major issue with their backup system, which unfortunately resulted in the loss of some critical data from the past year.

    What This Means for You:

    • If you created an account after March 2024, it no longer exists. You will need to sign up again to access the forum.
    • If you registered before March 2024 but changed your email, username, or password in the past year, those changes were lost. You’ll need to update your account details manually once you're logged in.
    • Threads and posts created within the last year have been restored.
    • Our 2025 light and dark themes were lost, so we are rebuilding them. Light theme is currently available, but work in progress

Our team is working with Xenforo Cloud to recover data using backups, sitemaps, and other available resources. We know this is frustrating, and we deeply regret the impact on our community. We are taking steps with Xenforo Cloud to ensure this never happens again. This is work in progress. Thank you for your patience and support as we work through this.

That was a hell of a crowd in full throat, as Robbie said it was a sell out who I'm sure were entertained and got their monies worth
Crowd tonight reminded me of those early years. Very electric.

I missed another one - since I retired, I seem to have less time (WTF?)
But really nice to see the guys beat the Stars - looks like the top line were having fun.
Looking at the shot clock, it looks like this one was a tight game - appears like the Jets had their Defensive A game going.
Was that the case?
Congrats on your retirement. That’s awesome to read.

The early returns on Schenn and Tanev have been absolutely incredible. Just goes to show the value of incorporating players who want to compete for the ultimate prize over the sexy, flashy name(s). Tip of the cap to Chevy on that one.

Blocking shots, laying the body, clearing net front, and doing whatever it takes to win. They are adding another element of winning hockey to an already scary good squad.

The boys absolutely came to play tonight and rose to the occasion. They suffocated the Stars all night long and took away so many of their key players. The crowd was fantastic, too. You could feel the energy through the broadcast.

Man, I am starting to get excited for the Spring and I am f***ing proud of this team.
I wanted to post something after that inspiring win, but what Mooche posted above was everything I wanted to say. Good post.

I hope so. I hope so. I hope so. I hope so.

In any case, we’ve pretty much cemented 1st in the Western Conference by now. Get ready for some banners. Maybe even more banners.
Relax Jets magic number is 12 and the Stars have a very easy schedule while the Jets have one of the toughest schedule to end the season.
As long as the jets play like this 1st place should not be a problem.

Not sure how you see it this way. The Stars play the Jets one more time, so that's at least one team they play that's better than them, which means they have the tougher schedule. The Jets, on the other hand, only play teams that aren't as good as they are. The record doesn't lie.

That's how I choose to see it.

The Stars play pretty well every second night with a couple of b2b's thrown in for the rest of the year, 2 games in hand for them is the kicker but the Jets can't worry about that, just keep playing the way they are and they should be able to fend them off

The Jets had control from start to finish. Dallas had very little in terms of high danger chances. Yes the 1st line dominated. Congratulations on retiring. I did that 5 years ago, but got drawn back in on a part time bases, but at a really enjoyable level.

Seemed weird that Dallas outshot us. We completely stymied their offence and were frustrating them.

Just to Troll the Stars they'll play Comrie

Wow, just wow! What a game! Too bad about the shutout, I won't name names, but a solid effort from the home team. Plus, some pretty goals too! Crowd was amazing and I hope to hear that from the fans through to the playoffs and beyond! I give this game five "Beths" out of five...

The Prediction Contest for the game against the Krakenheads has been posted for your guesses. Try to get them in before HFBoards crashes again. The next game is available, so if someone would like to make the GDT, the sign-up sheet is open. See you on Sunday! Good night...

Great game. Important win for regular season standings. In this regard, biggest game of season so far

These are a Stars team down 3 top players including their #1 C so don't take too many victory laps on this one
Enjoying it for tonight but my playoff expectations are the same as past seasons.

Until they can prove they have killer instinct and everyone in that dressing room can up their level of play, I will have my doubts.

It's an absolute gift to have a tough schedule to end the season. The next month is all about finding the game that wins games in April and May. If you get through those months maybe you can figure out how to win in June. My heartbreak from last April is gone. I'm a Belieber again.
