Damn Jets - couldn't get the ENG for me. But I'll take it.

Had me worried for a while but great comeback.

Scheifele thumbing his nose at whoever was responsible for bypassing him.

Connor has been a new man all season and no sign of it slowing down.

Bravo to Claude giroux for that great play on appleton to keep it 4-2

  :sarcasm:

Pretty tough to take on two guys at once - he had to play the pass - unfortunately, it got through

good win, is it too soon to talk about how good the top line is? ehlers needs a center to take this team to the next level, I don't think there should really be an argument of who should play between stanley/heinola as the answer is quite clearly neither

The second one was on him but it's hard to fault him on the first one

A very nice play by a couple of great players. Like the Ehlers - Vilardi goal
Well I'm going to be a dick and blame Stanley on the first PP goal too because if he could bend down and put his stick on the ice the pass would not go threw. The passer would have to flip the puck over Stanley's stick and the goal scorer would have to take the pass off the ice. I saw Pionk and Samberg both able to do that and that what good PK does against the Jets. I'm not saying the Sens would not have scored on that play but at least make it difficult for them.
Did you notice game tied 2-2 and Sens on the PP ... no Stanley on the ice.

Ehlers with a 3 point night. The Jets really need to resign Nik, as he's the key player on the 2nd line, and also an important player on the powerplay. Without Ehlers on that 2nd line, what do you have ? If Ehlers wasn't in the lineup tonight, good chance we wouldn't have won that. Sign the man Chevy, his contract is up at seasons end.

Heinola struggled again tonight I thought. Not sure what they do with him when everyone is healthy. Not sure what his trade value is.
And I thought it was Stanley that struggled. Not sure what he contributes to pk but we were 100% kill rate when he was injured at 50% today with him a major contributor in both goals against. Heinola was not as strong as last game but still boxes out infinitely better than Stanley in spite of his size and there is no comparison with their zone exits and outlet passes.

Would you keep Stanley over him? Legit asking.

Given Stanley's development time and opportunity vs. Heinola, do you keep Stan instead?

I don't think the Jets really have a burning need for another smallish, puck moving defenseman, but if we end up parting ways with Pionk after the season maybe Heinola fits that role a bit better??

Nice comeback win!!

Schiefele and Connor man they are in snyc right now.

That Scheifele back hand goal was a boss goal!! Yeah leave me out of the 4 Nations team…..

Ehlers was humming big time….

Jets transistion is on another level. Not sustainable always but hopefully it peaks when it matters the most comes playoff time.

Helly is also on another level. He gave up to goals but his saves…. worldclass goalie. Best in the business now

Should be a hart trophy finalize if he keeps this up.
And i will say it!! If Jets keeps up this torrid pace he should win it!!! plus the Vezina.

GO JETS GO

He did go down - and the puck went through him - it happens. And the video that is posted on post 71 will show that.
It's a bang bang play and those are going to go in once in awhile.

But if you need someone to blame, Stan's your man because he's the defender that was stuck covering the 3 players you are showing in your screen shot - and 2 of them are in prime scoring position (18 is wide open and 9 has body / shooting position on 15).
That pass could have gone to 9 or 18 - or 19 could have played it himself if Stan was to bite on either of the other two. That's a tough spot to be in - he had 3 guys to cover.
I've never seen fans try so hard to blame a PK goal on one of our guys, in a game we won - I don't think you are being a dick about it but you are trying very hard to find a way to blame this on someone.

Did you guys see Bieska defending Nylander floating around past the Leafs blueline waiting for a pass? It was hilarious, Washington scored which made it even more funny. If a Jets player did that we wouldn't be happy and guaranteed someone from the Sportsnet panel would have pointed it out as bad defense which it was.

Well my thoughts on this game is it's a good thing the Jets drew Ottawa's 4th string goalie tonight.

Glad the Stanley-Heinola pairing got broken up, because it looked like 2 bottom pairings that couldn't keep up early.

Stan will get blamed for 2 goals against. The 1st I didn't like for sure. But I thought he got better once he was paired with Pionk.

I thought Heinola got worse as the game went on. He just couldn't match the physicality that Ottawa's forwards brought. Doesn't make me confident seeing the way he gave clear paths to the net.

I thought Morrissey and Pionk were very strong, which was needed.

PP goal was nice. I love a new wrinkle every game.

5 on 5 I thought Lowry did a real effective defensive job against Tkachuk's line.

Scheif had some real troubles with Pinto's line but they scored so that's the name of the game.

2nd line was good and I thought the endorsement came in a late game shift, without substitutions.

Garry Galley was less nauseating tonight. He at least acknowledged the Jets are good.

Take 2 points and move on to the next one.

Again, there's only one dangerous play that could have been executed at that time, which was straight through Stanley. He wasn't alone with three guys below the dots - Namestnikov was there too.
Yet Names and Kupari didn’t make the play to stop it shame on them. But, really sometimes it’s ok to give the other team credit.

There is a reason Stan is in bottom pairing an in line to make a million and pionk and Samberg are top 4 d. There is also another jet, Kupari, watching the guy Stan is already covering instead of watching back door, yet Stan is the only who gets blamed. Names doesn’t do anything meaningful on that sequence.

Question then becomes what do you do with his 7 mil he is supposed to get. Is there somewhere you can improve team more?
Will the guy you replace him with have better health so you have your 7 mil player in your line up for 10 extra games this season?

Great comeback.
Samberg can't get back soon enough.
Stanley trying to box out Tkachuk while tracking the puck back into our zone was hilarious.
Stan gets around the goal line with the puck behind the net and stops to hold off his man and Brady just skates past him. We had some successful box outs leading up to that so it felt like the tall guy figured it was his time to do the same.
The result was not what we would want.

Always nice to win on a Saturday night and at home.
