A bit surprised with some of the sens fan reactions - had no idea some have such a low opinion of us so much lol. We have zero rivalry as far as I’m concerned.

I always thought of sens as a pseudo “jets east” and respect the team / pulled for them in the years Jets didn’t exist

I accept all the petty shots, if they leave Stutzle behind for us to adopt free of charge

Real nice win against a red hot team. Team played well top to bottom.

Helle was great, made the key saves when he needed to.

Thought this might have been the best the Ville/Stanley pairing has looked. Both seemed to read well off of each other after the first handful of shifts. Ville is getting more and more confident with the puck on his stick. Stanley was making the right reads and some nice passes. He also was allowed to play his physical game infront and it made a big difference.

Miller was a bit out of sorts on his offside but Pionk played well and carried that pairing.

JoMo and DeMelo look back in sync again. Real nice game by that pairing. JoMo should get a Norris nod.

Top line continues to be on fire. Some real nice puck and player movement/interchanges. Scheifele should be first up for Team Canada.

Second line had a nice game as well and with a bit more luck have more then the one goal they scored. Cole's game continues to mature in a very positive and all around way. He contributes positively even when not scoring. Whether it was by design or due to a knock to Namestnikov he pretty much played center the entire last two periods and looked very good doing it. I would like to see him get a run there as his game might now be mature enough to seize the role. Ehlers was flying again and forced the Sens to back off and he made them pay.

Third line with a typical third line.

Fourth line was good in limited minutes.

Obvious first game back after a break. Took almost half the game to start gelling offensively. Wasn't a fan of Stan's ability on the 2 Sens goals, but he attributed himself rather well otherwise. Fetts had some good plays in the OZ there. Hellebuyck was the best player again, but fortunately it wasn't by a wide margin. A deserved win. f*** Gary Galley.
I agree I mean Stan really has to cover both guys in front of net on 1st goal can’t just take one guy.

The most hilarious take in the HFSens GDT was someone bitching about Stogaart only getting drafted in the 2nd round because he's tall lol

My issue with that goal stems from him failing to block the pass. He read that too slowly, didn't get his stick on anything, and didn't go down to block the crease pass like we've seen DeMelo and others do. It was a very good pass and play by Stutzle, but that excuse only carries so much water.

Yeah odd, but they don’t see us play a lot and obviously they don’t know how to decipher standings.

That Stan engaged one guy in the front of the net and it was the second guy who scored who the other d didn’t engage.,

He was engaging the one forward where was the other d?

It wasn't their best game, but I think it's a really important one. They came back by enforcing their style of play and sticking to what has been proven to work in the past.

Not one to get overly excited about, but there isn't much here we can really complain about either. If you were to walk around the world, your head would have travelled a slightly longer distance than your feet. Best to give your head a break and not overthink things!

A win is a win and winning is good.

Next.

Sometimes they miss on those blocks - the advantage is always with the passer who can wait you out or shoot for the holes.
I would have liked to see him block that one - but those are tough and I wouldn't call him out for missing in that situation

Notice the play, Stan, and the forward that is NOWHERE near the play. He's not even an offensive threat. Stan has to have that. Kupari is floating around there near Stutzle, and DeMelo is floating to the point with Namestnikov. No one's in great position there, but there's only one dangerous passing play that they could execute, which they did.
