I still think stanley left his mark on this series, every team needs a guy that can rake the edge of their glove along the oppositions face, as well as hits that set the tone, but there was no denying that fluery was one of the Jets best d last night.
Give the lack of room for any more mistakes last night and how well Fleury played with that many minutes.
I doubt we could have won the game if Stan had been in over Fleury.
The coaches usually limit Stan's ice time especially as the game goes on.
There would have been no hiding him last night.

You never know I remember gord Donnelly and Shawn cronin playing excellent when short of d in the playoffs, but I get it

Fleury was great last night. Stan still played his part in the series as I don't think Thomas or Kyrou were as good after his hits. That doesn't mean that Stan has to be in every game or that he should even be in games going forward. If they need more physicality from the third line they can put him in. Schenn was good last night, but, he has also had his stinkers in the series.

If Morrissey misses next game which seems highly probable I'm certain that Fleury has earned that top 4 LD spot from last night.
Stan assuming he's healthy seems like an obvious choice to go back in but then you think about what were missing in Morrissey.
Perhaps the coaches will want Miller in the game for PP2 (maybe) or does Fleury also get that assignment.

On a side note I wish there was a pressbox shot (assuming he was there) of Scheif for his reactions to those comebacks and the win.

So here's my little story from yesterday...

Drove to Regina bright and early Saturday for a Celebration of Life service for my wife's Aunt. Up and at it first thing yesterday to drive back for the game, 5 minutes out of Regina, car pulls up beside me honking, (I have Jet plates) three young lads giving me thumbs up and holding up a Heritage white. Rolled down my window and they said they were driving in for the game...cool!

They were in front of me, likely going closer to 130 then my 120 and change. Wife needed a biffy break, so we stop at a garage and get going after about 5 or so minutes. After about 15 mins of driving at 120, I see the young lads vehicle going a bit slower. I pull up beside them and driver flashes his speeding ticket papers! Obviously the cop wasn't a Jet fan!

Pulled in front of them and then slowed and told the lads to look out for me outside at Whiteout party and I would buy the 3 of them a beer. In hindsight, I should have gotten them them to pull over and got more info from them and made it happen...my bad.

The Mother in my wife was feeling sorry for the young lads and thought we should give them some money to offset their ticket! It was just so neat to see those 3 young Sasky lads driving in to Winnipeg to cheer on our Jets!

I had very little to no sleep at the hotel (crappy pillows, sadly not from my wife keeping me up all night ;)) It was all so worth it in the end, but man was I beat last night...like most fans in the CLC we stood for the last 5 mins or so of 3rd and both OTs. Still vibrating this morning...

Great questions. I wanted Miller in last night. I imagine what the Jets do is run Fleury on the 2nd pp.

Nothing a case of Jets-induced priapism!

I don't know why. But I still think that's Pionk who scored the winning OT goal. And that's not Lowry who scored the winning OT goal.

So far in these playoffs I've avoided watching games with "the grandmas".
My wife, 5 year old son and I usually do Sunday dinner with our moms and that often included watching some Jets.
Our record together has not been good.
In a year where the Jets won A LOT more than they lost that is hard to do.
After the heartbreak of game 6 I relented and said fine lets just watch at your moms.
The result initially seemed like the curse had kicked in UNTIL IT DIDN'T.

The funny (not so funny) thing was we had to leave after the first OT.
I had to go full stealth mode to make it home (driving from the Kildonans to River Heights) avoiding any possible spoilers.
Get my kid to bed and then watch the 2nd OT not knowing.
By the time I watched I could see how much time the file had so as we got late into the period I knew it would end any minute.
Every single time the puck moved towards our end or we had a d-zone faceoff I cringed.

I thought Lucy was going to pull that football away from Charlie Brown for sure.
When Pionk's shot ricocheted in off of Lowry's hip/butt I couldn't even believe that we won in this kind of way.

Congratulations to you and your team. That was a war of attrition kind of series. Sucks to lose in that fashion, but the better team ended up winning.

Best of luck on the rest of this run.
Thanks for the congratulations. Appreciated. But war of attrition - uh, seriously? There was only one team out there who made it their core strategy to intentionally target and injure the other team's star players with high hits, late hits and dirty hits. And because of that, only one team suffered attrition of key players. I guess in theory it isn't the Blues fault. When they saw the refs and the league doing ~nothing about it they simply doubled down and went all in on attempting to attrit as many Jets as possible in any manner possible.

Still in a bit of shock after that one.

I legit thought it was fully over when Ehlers had that shot blocked at the end of the third. Only to go from a sigh, to jumping up with a scream of joy.

I’m a little evil so hoped for even a third overtime because I just didn’t want that game to end. Enjoyed the tension of overtime.

Don’t know how you get amped up for Dallas after a game like that as a player.
