The concourse after the third was a real Winnipeg moment, people high fiving, loving life, hard to explain but it was something. Then outside the rink after, it was like we won the cup, horns blasting, portage and main filled with fans. I know it was only round one but felt like a once in a lifetime experience, just a wild night.

Jets fans need to step up their A game behind their bench against Dallas.View attachment 1029870
You forgot the best one.

The Ds gutted it out last night. Pionk was great, Fleury played great. Helly made huge saves after the third goal. Forwards were all out of sync but Perfetti could’ve scored 5. It was just an ugly win that I quite enjoyed. Hope Scheif and Jmo are back, we especially need our forward lines back in order. Arneil made good in game adjustments but the lines need back together. I still can’t believe what I witnessed, never seen it so loud after tying goal.

I really like our chances against Dallas, as we always play well against them. I like the matchup, and a series we can win, providing Scheifele is in the lineup.

We can get by without Morrissey, but having both back would be fantastic.

I think we can beat Dallas. They don’t have a McKinnon or McDavid type, but they have Rattanen.

Let’s remember, the Blues won 14 of their last 18 games, and were the hottest team in the NHL. Very tough out - underrated.

had me thinking - that game was a long way ago from this:

The only thing missing from Fleury's game is consistency, he skates well took the body, moves the puck played well in the Jets zone. If he can do that again and again it will help solidify the D corps going forward especially if Joshua misses any time.
He was great and makes Schenn better, no more Stanley please. It also showed that guys that shoot the same hand can play together with 5 d in there we had to do it so play best guy Miller or Fleury.

Great interview. Helle was not good enough in some games in this series. But anyone that thinks that his sv% is 100% on him alone and the series result would be 100% on Helle, needs to listen to the last couple minutes of this interview to learn how hockey really works. And by the way, we won.

And anyone talking about how Helle's low sv% was responsible for the Jets not generating enough offense, does that mean they now believe that Helle's sv% is responsible for the last two goals scored in the best Game 7 comeback in the history of the post season? Hmm. It's not, btw. There was a whole dumb discussion about this in another thread.

Back to the game - it was nice to see Helle settle down and be the rock we needed to close this game and this series out. We will need a more consistent Helle for the series against Dallas.

Comments for some other players:

KC had some defensive issues but he did exactly what he's supposed to do and put up points, many of which when we needed them this series.

Barron stepped up and didn't look out of place at 3C. We look to have Lowry's heir apparant on the roster.

Namestnikov really upped his play in Mark's absence.

Fly after a real rough first half really got his game going the back half and in OT. That bodes really well for round 2.

Vilardi also started to find his game the back half of the game. Hopefully the rust is off for him now and he's ready to get back to 60 point form against the Stars.

Iafallo, Nino, and Tanev all busted their asses and made the hard plays they needed to.

Fleury - played a fantastic game. That is the type of game that got him drafted top 10. If only he could bring it more.

I've been highly critical of Schenn but he stepped it up and played exactly how he was brought in to play.

DeMelo has been a defensive force in games 5 and 7.

it really felt like some demons were exercised with that game last night. Helly was rock solid in the OT. Both Ehlers and Connor - 2 guys with some post-season question marks on them - were instrumental in the victory. Really felt like a reset for the team. Who knows what happens now...something to build on for sure!

I don't know what to say about Haydn Fleury.

Dude was our #8D and he just came into a Game 7 and played top 4 mins + PK and was pretty much mistake free through more than 30 mins.

He probably earned himself half a million bucks more in one game. Lol seriously!

Great post, and I agree with all you say. Ehlers is starting to look very dangerous, and just about scored. In Barron, I definitely think he could step in for Lowry, and we wouldn’t miss a beat, and likely a better scorer.

Also Perfetti is getting stronger and stronger, and will be a star player for the Jets, and maybe their next Captain. Cole is very impressive.

Missing Scheifele, missing Morrissey but they gutted out the win. What a game!

After another shaky start Hellebuyck settled in and played his best of this series. He didn't face a lot of shots but he made some tough saves.

Perfetti! What a gem! He has arrived as an adult, no longer the baby-faced kid.

As much as that last second pass from Ehlers on the goal to tie it up was a stone cold, icy-veined killer play...it was also the sort of thing Nik is kinda known for right? I mean his whole story is that he's a great player who scores goals and drives the play for you but also makes some crazy decisions and is sorta unpredictable and sometimes he does stuff that will drive you a little crazy. That's exactly his MO...
