Until the teams that are impacted by trade protection speak up there will be no change. If all Canadian teams banded together on this, they could make it happen imo. The cap is about to be $120 million, in large part powered by the new tv deal. To me it is unacceptable that players are allowed keep themselves out of certain markets. If you are getting paid that much in guaranteed contracts you should play in any of the 32 cities. Jets need to make a stink about it, they are not the only team impacted. I am willing to go as far as supporting a lockout in 2026 over this issue.

This would just cause a lockout that would benefit no one. It’s no different than a union negotiating with the company. There’s give and take. Hell you could argue the Jets have benefited in the long run. Our best players are here for life. Do we really have much to complain about???

I can listen to Paul and Mitchell call hockey all day. Love listening to the games when driving. There's energy in the commentary. Analysis isn't a monologue rant. Sawyer understands the details it's just the way he presents them that are grating.

Robertson will never call a game as well as Dennis Beyak.

Players all get paid in American dollars so ya that is definitely going to be a problem eventually for Canadian teams. Right now 100,000,000 million US is 144,007,500 in Canadian dollars.I always feel like Dr evil when you start talking about players salaries

Like I said, I am not taking anything away from Perfetti. It was a great move. It just surprises me that Forbort is still in the league to be honest.

Forbort is still in the league because in his last 115 minutes or so of PK time, teams have only scored 4 times. In his last 20 games or so, he’s +1 on the PK. Let that sink in.

Not taking anything away from Perfetti whatsoever, but I thought Forbort was cooked when he played for us in the 20-21 season.

Forbort was coming off a season where he had a severe back injury when he played at Winnipeg
