Post-Game Talk: Jets 3 - Kraken 2 in OT

Are they calling Perfetti Jimmy?

Maybe because of his hairdo on picture day?

My boy Perfetti carrying the load!!!!
He had a sneaky awesome play late in the 3rd.
The 2nd line was hounding the puck in the Kraken end.
Cole was forechecking hard and timed a perfect double hit.
He sent one Kraken into the other behind the net.
He didn't blow them up obviously but he used one Kraken to take out the other.

Development is such an interesting thing.

IMO Samberg was good enough to play 2nd pairing last season but Dillon brought enough to the table that he wasn’t getting demoted by a veteran coach. The season ends, Brendan moves on, Samberg moves up and becomes an impact player in the top 4 and we get a material upgrade. He is good enough to play top pairing now IMO but due to handedness it spreads our best two D men out and our 2nd pairing elevates from last season which makes this team much tougher to beat (that’s my take). No knock on Pionk, he has had a really good season by his standards and brings important offense to our D core but Samberg is showing he can play with anyone and he seems to elevate their games.

Perfetti had our fan base understandably skeptical when he was slumping this season (again). However, this time the new head coach sticks with him and presto, we all get to witness change. He is starting to fill out physically but the main thing is you can see his confidence growing. The game is starting to slow down for him now and he has taken an important step that our team really needed.

Last night he was the difference and that is not the first time lately. The importance of his growth and increased impact on our 2nd line can’t be understated, especially as we head towards the playoffs.

Just a ridiculous season we're having. I don't think there's much chance at all of Dallas making up 11 points in 14 games.

I'm not going to lie though...the pessimist in me feels like the season has gone a little too well and there's just no way it carries on through the playoffs. Can't help it lol, it's just how my brain works.

Easy to think like that but this team is better defensively than last season's +81 goals for / against is unreal. Having said that anything can happen in the playoffs but i really like how this team is playing both offensively and defensively.

Re: Perfetti, he has really been noticeable on the boards lately which is a great sign for the playoffs.

Re: Appleton, I would need to have expectations to be disappointed... I strongly believe he is regularly costing that line scoring chances.

323 times fooled, 324 times shy? The past is the past my dude. There's room on this wagon, hop on. :)

I feel like Seattle is a better team than their record, they always play the Jets hard. Maybe it's coaching with them, but that's a team I had as a playoff team.

Like the way the Jets stuck with it. Samberg's value goes up every game, but I did notice the right side didn't generate much offense without Pionk.

Great game by Perfetti, he's getting better each game now. Great game by the 4th line again.

Am I the only guy besides Sip a little disappointed in Appleton game after game. I know he's the veteran and he's earned his spot but I do wonder if Kupari would generate more offense with his skating.

Nice to see the team in front of Eric Comrie starting to win some games for him.

Keep everyone in the rear view mirror in this season to remember.
Agree with your (and Sipowicz's) thoughts about Appleton and your's about the current 4th line configuration (Hopefully, they don't mess with that line.) Could Appleton find himself demoted to the PB? I wouldn't be upset.

Yeah, I keep wanting to believe the unimaginable, but then I slap myself to wake up from that fantasy.

This dude’s hockey heart has been broken too often so I resort to pessimism as it’s better to be unexpectedly surprised than constantly let down.
