Post-Game Talk: Jets 3 - Caps 2 in OT

  • We sincerely apologize for the extended downtime. Our hosting provider, XenForo Cloud, encountered a major issue with their backup system, which unfortunately resulted in the loss of some critical data from the past year.

    What This Means for You:

    • If you created an account after March 2024, it no longer exists. You will need to sign up again to access the forum.
    • If you registered before March 2024 but changed your email, username, or password in the past year, those changes were lost. You’ll need to update your account details manually once you're logged in.
    • Threads and posts created within the last year have been restored.

Our team is working with Xenforo Cloud to recover data using backups, sitemaps, and other available resources. We know this is frustrating, and we deeply regret the impact on our community. We are taking steps with Xenforo Cloud to ensure this never happens again. This is work in progress. Thank you for your patience and support as we work through this.

In the meantime, feel free to join our Discord Server

Agreed. From a non Stan....stan....he has been obviously better than Fleury.
Overall, no Fluery is better but Stan played ok last night. A couple defensive giveaways but not bad.

Glad we have Schenn, it was nice watching him hammer Wilson .

Perfetti took a beating, 5 cross checks that should've been called on the play where Nino drew the penalty, good game from him.

Great team effort

Agreed. Arniel really seems to have a handle on what makes this team tick. He likes to spread the lineup and force as many tough matchups as he can for the other team. His post game comments on wanting to match up Ehlers against Wilson were interesting. You can’t match Wilson’s size so you get the mismatch you want from speed.
I said pre game, that I didn’t like the looks of his lineup but given our record this year I defer to him. He really is a great coach for this group.

The pass in OT from Samberg was really an impressive pass. From behind the net to the far blueline, bank pass hit Ehlers in stride on the tape. Ehlers still having that gear after playing a minute and a half long shift was impressive too, maybe he wouldn't be completely exhausted after 16 minutes like some people seem to say he would be!

Big win, keep pushing.
That's why Ehlers takes shorts shifts - he's saving it for OT!

Winning is great and all... but Im still bummed out that Innana and Stumbledore didnt just reappear after the site reset and we all kept posting like it never happened... I feel empty inside.

Also why is it so hard to post a gif now haha.

Tenor gifs in particular don't seem to work. Giphy is fine. You can save the image from Tenor and post from your local...that also works.

They're here somewhere, of that I'm sure. Different usernames and different online "personas" but they're here.

Suzanne Somers was pretty hot BTW.

Maybe not. The reset took out some old accounts. Notice that the PI that created the shitstorm is gonzo. On the main boards it could be more dubious. You wonder how many bots exist on a platform like this. Twitter had its before Musk and surely does now. Facebook/Instagram, brutally. You can create internet communities now that are essentially artificial intelligence connecting with one person, in a labyrinth.

I started with Elisabeth Shue.

Team played really well but id still like to see
Kfc-scheif-perfetti
Ehlers-lowry-iafallo

Both perfetti and ehlers had plays that their linemates couldnt finish...
Iafallo did just about everything right on that top line. Go to the net, hard on the board battles, see him up the ice behind Scheifele defending the neutral zone. Probably our most underrated player, with those Copp like defensive chops. Maybe when Vilardi comes back, Scotty will keep him up there in the top 6.

I think that was the worst game I saw Namestnikov play this year, handling the puck. Like he heard footsteps or saw the KGB in the building.

I agree Iafallo had a great game and complimented the first line well.

Yeah, Arniel is doing something I've wanted our coaches to do for a while and that is create balanced lines.

Both Scheifele and KC want to do the driving and creating on line one. Adding another driver in Cole or Fly just gives the line too much of the same thing and reduces the puck touches for all involved. Vilardi and Iafallo aren't drivers. They get in on the forecheck and win pucks and then get to the net where they can finish plays. They cover for some of KC and Scheifele's short commings while bringing size and more so in Gabe's case net front play finishing.

Ditto for line 2 most of the year I that you had two offensive play drivers and a complimentary piece that did a lot of the off the puck work in Namestnikov.

I think Arniel now realizes he can get true offensive drivers on both line 2 and 3 which allows him create 3 dangerous lines which you need in the playoffs.

It's really about trying to balance the lines for Scott.
