Post-Game Talk: Jets 2 - Rangers 1

  • Xenforo Cloud is doing server maintenance Thurdsay 13th at 9 AM GMT. Downtime is to be expected during the process. Server changes were implemented recently to cope with the traffic surge last week. This seems to be affecting the user login, so please anyone experiencing this, log out and clear the browser cache. Not our best effort, we really should've smacked these Rangers around but a win is a win, second line was awesome, Schenn was a beast and exactly what we needed on that third pairing, KC and Scheifs though were cheeks, hopefully they get their shit together soon.

Will need a much better effort against the Stars, if we play like we did here they will push our shit in.

Tanev and Schenn give this team a little more of a playoff feel.

That bite they both bring is certainly going to be a nice characteristic to have on a nightly basis for this squad. Especially as things ramp up and temperature rises into the real thing come April.

Not a Picasso tonight, but as I've said before, I am so grateful with where this team is at to know they can put the clamps on teams. They lean on their structure and goaltender to take them home to two points.

Big, big duel on Friday. Can't wait!

4/5 Skeletons tonight. Koal looks like he has figured out things, Schenn will never dazzle with quicks and speed but he knows what he is doing back there. Top line a little disorganized tonight. Snerg is a D man that must be signed long term. Every team needs a Vladdy we have ours. 4th line has come together quickly. Helle not over work probably got his GA under 2 again. Big win tonight that the Jets really needed. Fridays game is a must win if we want first.

Yeah, I think eventually we swap Apples for Tanev. It’ll give the Lowry line more jump.

Extreme example, but if you win high danger chances 12-7 but then lose lower danger chances 0-100 then the expected goals will favor the team with less high danger chances.

This is the first game I have been clutching only because of what Dallas did at TDL … need to finish first place.
I’m not worried about playing Stars or Avs it’s just makes it easier if they beat each other up and the jets get to play an exhausted team.

xG in hockey is rubbish, and I say this as someone who has all kinds of time for advanced stats and analytics.

There may be decent proprietary models, but the publicly available ones (eg. MoneyPuck) are for entertainment purposes only. So many errors and glitches in where they mark shot locations, it’s “garbage in, garbage out” data.

Solid win ? Holy crap . We could not throw or receive a pass worth a crap . Blind passes , bad passes , crap passes . Have I mentioned the word crap yet ?

This said we won but man do these guys need a few days off . I think it's more of a mental fatigue thing than a physical thing . Legs were moving but hands and head were lagging behind .

Sorry for the rant . I feels better now man .
