Unreal, maybe i will go over to your Leafs board and say the exact same thing . Too bad no one can stop the Jets train that awaits the winner of the east. How well do you think that would be received ???
Sure try it. I do not get how my saying the leafs winning the east is offensive. What if I said the Canes?

I agree, Stan's penalty was bad. But the rest of his game was really good. I have posted here in the past that I didn't believe he would improve at his age, 26 and 27 next month. But he really has. At first it was just a couple of decent games. Have to wait and see if it lasts. But it is now something in the neighbourhood of his last 10-12 regular season games plus 2 PO games. He seems to have figured out how to play a strong game despite his flaws. Never thought I would be saying that. Especially paired up with another slow Dman.

Not sure what you mean about Schenn protecting his goalie. It was after the whistle, behind the net. Unless you mean he was sending a message.
Logan Stanley if used properly can be effective.
He is certainly not the worst dman in the league.
His hit on Kyrou altered the game as it took him out of the game. I think if my eyes did not deceive me that he was not used on the pk last night.
The facts are they won the President's trophy with him as a regular. I think this team is in good hands with Arniel behind the bench. He seems to be pressing the right buttons this year. and thus far. I still reserve the right to be disappointed if they play poorly.

This is spot on and here is a perfect example in last night's Oilers/Kings game.
Kings just scored to make it 5-2 on a 5 on 3 PP.
With 12 minutes left the refs game management kicks in and they ignore an obvious penalty which leads to a goal to make it 5-3.

Looked to like me like the LA d man slid himself to cut off the pass. Perry hardly touched him

Best part about the CBC broadcast is that it cut right to some shitty period detective drama that I'd otherwise never watch but my tax dollars still went to subsidize the production of

Maybe I'll watch for a bit to get my money's worth

You may not like Murdoch Mysteries but don't worry about your tax dollars subsidizing it. It has been sold to dozens of markets around the world. Pretty sure it makes money.

Stan got about 10 min TOI. His partner Schenn had about 17. I assume the difference is PK time.

Can players touch/move a broken stick? I thought there was a minor penalty called if this occurs.

Happens twice late in the 2nd on the Blues PP by Brayden Schenn. Play by play even calls in happening.

10.3 Broken Stick – Player - A broken stick is one which, in the opinion of the Referee, is unfit for normal play.
A player without a stick may participate in the game. A player whose stick is broken may participate in the game provided he drops the broken stick. A minor penalty shall be imposed for an infraction of
this rule.
A player who has lost or broken his stick may receive a replacement stick by having one handed to him from his own players’ bench, by having one handed to him by a teammate on the ice or by picking up his own unbroken stick or that of a teammate from the ice. A player will be penalized if he throws or shoots a stick to a teammate on the ice, or if he picks up and plays with an opponent’s stick. A player may not participate in the play using a goalkeeper’s stick. A minor penalty shall be imposed for an infraction of this rule.
A player using a stick thrown on the ice from the players’ or penalty bench will not receive a penalty. However, the person responsible for throwing the stick will receive a bench minor penalty.

53.2 Minor Penalty - A minor penalty shall be imposed:
(iii) For interference when a player moves a stick that is not broken and it interferes with an opposing player or when the player who lost said stick is prevented from retrieving it as a result;
NOTE 1: No penalty will be assessed if moving the non-broken stick if it does not interfere with the play or the opposing player is not attempting to retrieve it.
NOTE 2: When a player discards the broken portion of a stick or some other object by tossing it or shooting it to the side of the ice (and not over the boards) in such a way as to not interfere with the play or opposing player(s), no penalty will be imposed for so doing.
(iv) For unsportsmanlike conduct (plus a game misconduct – 53.5) when a player throws his stick or any part thereof or any other object or piece of equipment outside the playing area in protest of an official’s decision

Maybe you're just an uncultured rube? Instead of watching the brutish hockey players, learn to appreciate the finer things in life, like a linesman taking a minute or two to drop the puck, and seemingly at random choosing to throw out a faceoff man. He worked his ass off to get here, and this is his time in the limelight, dammit!

Not sure what you're talking about

He had forward support and the resulting play was a 2 on 2

It was a perfect read. That's exactly what he's being coached to do
Rewatch. It’s a potential 2-1 that never materializes due to a fortunate bounce.

It then becomes a 3-2 when the Blues trailer arrives late and skates down Broadway for a high danger chance. There’s even a 4th Blue coming off the bench off screen.

3 Jets becoming tangled on their blue line a foot away from each other isn’t how “they are coached to play.”

Anyways I’m thru with my rewatch and have no desire to continue debating this play.

Moving forward I hope the Jets don’t chase more hits like this. Let the Blues do it to the detriment of their game.

Stan isn’t going to be watching games. But, you are entitled to your opinion.
It is possible style wise that he could look at other combos.
We saw when Schenn first got here that Stan sat for a few games until Pionk got hurt.
As long as it's a physical series like this then Stan is probably in.
But a fast team like the Avs may force the coaches hand to tweak that third pairing and I doubt that Schenn is coming out.

I was on the fence about that hit. I agree the timing wasn't great, but at the same time the timing was fantastic because until then the Blues were running us out of our rink and we needed to step up and say "nuh uhhhh gurrrrrl"
I saw mulitple people (media, fans of both teams, neutral observers) all note that Kyrou disappeared after that hit and did not impact the game.
If that's true then the hit accomplished a lot (despite giving me heart palpitations for the chance against it created)

I agree you are right. But, I was arguing more with the other poster's confidence Stan is coming out. I think it would be great if Arniel is flexible and make necessary adjustments. I think making posts about him coming out until he does is premature.

That 3rd guy in the zone is a D man and is the forwards responsibility

Someone mentioned in their presser last night that the team is coached to beat their D men to our zone... so that guy is Apple's responsibility

It led to a chance against, which wasn’t great but it also completely knocked Kyrou off his game. He was a non-factor for the rest of the night. I think we take that trade-off 10/10 times.

Yeah that hit rocked him and he wasnt the same after. According to Blues fans on their site Thomas is also nursing a significant injury and can barely walk. If true and both those guys are playing hurt now........They are in big trouble.
