I thought Stanley's was a bad penalty. Because he got beat in a one on one lost body position and then laid the lumber until the back ref gave him 4 free ones.
Schenn was protecting his goalie from a player taking an indirect route to the goalie who already had the puck protected. His play kind of reminded me of Big Buff tapping Brayden on the head at a faceoff after physically dominating the Flyers. And that's a big difference with this team in round 1. It's not easy to get to the net. Brayden almost pulled off the miracle tip in the final 2 minutes from the bottom of the circle. Don't know if that counted as a scoring chance but the Schenn on Schenn battles have been good.
I'd expect Brayden to get Scheifele in St. Louis and that might amp up some more physicality.
The key to me is Morrissey and Samberg winning the battles for more than 2/3 of the game.
Also Appleton. Jesus that guy scares me with his passes, he really hung out Stanley to dry when he blew a tire luckily bailed his own ass out. Got a couple of good looks with the wheels. And I thought his play where he tied up both St. Louis defenders to give Lowry a clean shot could have sealed the game with 3 minutes to go.
With the Blues fighting for their lives I think Thursday's late game could be the most intense of the series.
Yes. They can't move an opponents' unbroken stick, but moving a broken stick (other than for disrupting the play, IIRC) is allowed. Can players touch/move a broken stick? I thought there was a minor penalty called if this occurs.
Happens twice late in the 2nd on the Blues PP by Brayden Schenn. Play by play even calls in happening.

Unreal, maybe i will go over to your Leafs board and say the exact same thing . Too bad no one can stop the Jets train that awaits the winner of the east. How well do you think that would be received ???No kidding. Who knew they could flip the switch.
Full credit to Arniel and Scheif for leading this team the past 2 games.
KFC is also coming up huge.

Whispering sweet nothings to it is optional, per rule 78.3.You are allowed to gently move it out of the way of the play
This is spot on and here is a perfect example in last night's Oilers/Kings game. For the record, I don’t believe the NHL is biased towards the Jets. Rather it’s game management and in the playoffs “series management” in an attempt to create parity, lengthen a series, increase viewership and perhaps influence the betting line.
Do we have injuries or is that just for the experience to be on a Stanley Cup winning team.mason shaw and salomonsson recalled
just extra players for the road incase of injuriesDo we have injuries or is that just for the experience to be on a Stanley Cup winning team.![]()

Broken stick yes, dropped stick no. The latter happened with Schenn and I was yelling from the upper deck for a penalty. Can players touch/move a broken stick? I thought there was a minor penalty called if this occurs.

He finished the game so I assume he is good.Any word on Tanev he went into the boards real heavy?
All those examples were the first period alone. I was at the game and everyone I was with was commenting on the faceoff BS.
I fell asleep rewatching the game during the first intermission and just getting back to the second period now. Lowry seems to have had enough at this point. Everyone correctly in place including Lowry who’s taking an offensive draw on his string side only to get waived for Appleton to take the draw on his weak side. Jets lose the face off.
It’s these micro moments that convince me of bias in NHL officiating. As an isolated incident, no big deal. Added up over the entirety of a game and it’s quite the advantage.

He's definitely the number 6 guy by a large margin. Specific role player. Not trusted to defend leads (by the coach of the #1 overall team).
and yet...with all players healthy on the Blue Line... Arneil dresses him over and over and over... reg season and playoffs. big games and small....Barely over 10 mins a night is far from "average" for a 5-6. During the regular season Miller had only 2 games where he got the same or less TOI than Stan this game and one of them was the game where he got injured part way through. 2 games over the whole season for Fluery as well. The "average" for a 5-6 is closer to ~15-16 minutes a night across all situations.
It seems the coach disagrees with your assessment and is not inclined to deploy him in high leverage minutes in the playoffs where every play matters.
He's more of a 6-7. Or should I say a 6'7"...and yet...with all players healthy on the Blue Line... Arneil dresses him over and over and over... reg season and playoffs. big games and small....
cherry picking stats and pointing to averages... ok whatever... did I say Stanley is our McJesus? so what is he then? our 5-6 guy...which is where he is played.
as for your points./...ok sure he sat a bunch in the late third.....Matchups are a big part of the NHL game...who was Stanley matched against? What was that guys TOI and deployment in the last 5-6 mins....??? Maybe matchups more than "trust" is what the evidence shows.....
I don't care...
Jets won the PT ..our coach choses to dress him OVER the players you suggest our better.... over and over again..no matter what the fancy stats community says. no matter what the HF boards analysis says. and no matter how YOU break it down....
What is your point? why is this still a point? we are the best team in hockey with probably the best coach. in the league this season.......the coach choses to dress and play Stanley.....
that's who I'm trusting.
Maybe you're just an uncultured rube? Instead of watching the brutish hockey players, learn to appreciate the finer things in life, like a linesman taking a minute or two to drop the puck, and seemingly at random choosing to throw out a faceoff man. He worked his ass off to get here, and this is his time in the limelight, dammit!Yeah, i saw nothing wrong whatsoever with that draw. No idea what that clown linesman is seeing. He gets all pissy and snarky about it too after Lower rightfully asks him WTF? Ive noticed we get waved out way more than any other teams/games ive watched in recent years. Yesterday it was extremely noticeable. No idea what the hell is going on. I'd love a reporter to ask Arniel about it.
Dude played 63 games this year averaging 14 mins.
and both playoff games avg 13+.. and we won a lot of those reg season games.. and Both Whiteout games so far....
Arniel said he believes Stanley in the lineup gives the Jets thier best chance to win.
Jets won the presidents cup. 116 points 54 ROW 43 Reg wins, .707 pts %
Jets have won the first 2 playoffs...
and Stanley has decent TOI in all those games....
How is this still a discussion? How can you think about arguing with the coach over it?
Awesome for Salo to get the experience of practicing with the team during the playoffs.
Also :
Not sure what you're talking aboutBe careful what you wish for. The hit took him out of position & let directly to a high danger chance in a 2-1 game. That shot goes in & he'd be the whipping boy for this series.
I get the love for the hit though. The Blues have been been targeting our players, in particular Scheifele, with rather dangerous attempts that could easily be charging & boarding calls if they ever connected.
I'd argue that going out of ones way for a hit is green lighting the opposition to get even nastier.
ok sure 6-7...except he hasn't really seen the press box at all this season. if he's healthy he's dressed. He's more of a 6-7. Or should I say a 6'7"...
