Samberg made several big plays but none bigger than swatting that puck away before it could be shot into our empty net.
You know the one!
Just need 1 of the next 2 in St Louis to put them in a real bad spot.

I think if we go up 3-0 without Vilardi then I could see them holding him out even longer.
I think if vilardi is 100% then you put him in the lineup asap, he hasn't played in a while and needs to get into playoff shape

Will be interesting to see if Stanley stays in the line up in St. Louis given that the Blues will have last change. I expect him to get Game 3 at least, then see if he gets destroyed or is still serviceable.

I think you have it backwards.

Its a penalty in live play because they don't want players to cause odd man situations while the player puts his helmet back on or skates to the bench.
The box score indicated what the penalty is for. Automatic 2 minutes for removing a player's helmet. 10 if it is in a fight. Right in front of ref.

In a live play where the ref can't see the events it's harder to make that call. Maybe player in question doesn't have their helmet on tight enough.

In the end neither plays were factors in the game. And Schenn knows to use a different method next time, to protect his goalie.

Couple quick thoughts.....

-The refs are downright dog water in this series -- but please keep this 5v5, guys. The Jets are absolutely in control and dominating large stretches of these games staying out of the box.

-Credit to Stan. That hit came at the perfect time. The Blues once again came out with their hair on fire, throwing the body and high energy. Smashing Kyrou like that really jolted that game. Didn't notice Kyrou much at all afterwards.

-I f***ing love Tanev. My Lord. The guy is such a gamer and gives you absolutely everything he has on every shift. Went down hard into the back wall and you just knew he's coming out full reckless abandon next shift. He did a lot of the heavy lifting on that line tonight.

-Wish that goal went in for Cole but once again I liked a lot of work from that line. Vlad solid. Nino played a heavy, heavy game and was really making guys pay for ice out there and in board battles.

-What a bounce back game from Samberg. Pionk fantastic as well. It's beautiful to be able to throw out a top four like that and then have the versaility to plug in Schenn with JoMo or Samberg for different looks to bring a game home.

-Again, due to horrific reffing, this game got broken up in pieces but I'd like to see more of that 4th line. I liked a lot of what Barron did again tonight. He led the way with 8 mins, and Gus-JAD under 5 a piece. I have no problem with those guys on the ice, especially with Barron down the middle.

-Oh yeah, take your gentlemen sweep and stick it where the sun don't shine. These boys are on a mission.

GJG!

I'm not surprised Perfetti is playing well. It's not about size, it's about a willingness to engage and play in traffic and the tough areas. He's always done that, he's just now experienced and physically developed enough to come out on top more often then not.

Scheifele/KC/JoMo doing exactly what they need to do and drive the team. When your leaders lead the rest will follow. Add in Helle righting his game and its a recipe for a deep run.

That's my point.
If he hasn't had a contact practice yet then he isn't close to 100%.
It's likely that he would be coming in early before he is actually healed to make a game 3 or 4.
So if you're up 3-0 in the series and you can give a guy who might only be 80% another 3 days to heal you may do that.

I think once he's cleared for contact he is going to be pretty well damn near 100% it would just be a matter of how he feels after

Scott Arniel taking over as coach has had a positive effect in his trajectory and confidence. You could say that about Pionk and Stanley as well.

You wonder if you see any more of Perfetti on that line with Scheif and Connor, down the road, and into the long term.

I like the lineup we have now. Everyone can take a hit, give a hit. Namestnikov and Niederreiter are playing good hockey. It's a matter of time before they score... Not one of them was on the 2nd line last year. It's incredible how Arniel has changed the mentality of this team.
Top line has been great, but hoping to see some secondary scoring to help close out this series.
Keep top line together, place Vilardi on line 2 when he comes back?
I'd put Valardi in on the 4th line when he is ready. Ease him in, with PP being his main focus. If he gets into a rythym, or the Jets need more scoring, move him up.

Having two days off makes me nervous, as this team sometimes loses its groove during the extra time off. I hope the boys remain focused and the fire stays lit, hungry for blood when they return to the ice on Friday (Thursday for you).

Curious why Jets are getting tossed out of face offs when Blues centres aren’t even lined up correctly.

Time after time Jets are behind there lines while the Blues are well outside. Results in pucks being dropped away from the our players and into the feet of the opposition.

Quite the advantage being handed their way.
