Pulju, last 60 games (CAR/PIT/PIT): 6-8-14, -2
Pulju, prior 58 games to that (EDM): 5-9-14, -11

Unfortunately that's probably what the player is. I would guess Jesse goes back home now and remains in Liiga until he calls it a career. He did well over there and is a man among boys in Finnish hockey while getting paid an alright salary. Better than being a 12th forward in North America who has no control over their destination or fate thanks to waivers.

I wonder if the Penguins are banking on him getting claimed, they don't have any more veteran AHL spots and likely don't have a spot to play Puljujarvi in the AHL. Not sure why they'd be waiving him otherwise, he's fine as a 14th F.

He's not anything special so he shouldn't be claimed, he's a classic AAAA player. Just another Emil Bemstrom type of guy, but just one that was drafted super high.

Edit: WBS has some injuries to their top-6 so Puljujarvi is likely being waived to go help out the AHL team. That would explain it.

He wasn't the north American grinder who stumbles around and does a lot of nothing who Sullivan loves as a self insert.

He definitely earned his spot in the lineup and was becoming a pretty solid player for the Penguins but Sullivan refused to play him. Why have him in the lineup when you have such a cog like Matt Nieto?
