Hopefully he has a strong finish to his season and either fetches us the return that we want or comes back next season ready to do well as an Oiler.
Until he is 27.Ok so we retain Jesse’s rights... for how long??

All his "prime" years!
Until he is 27.
He can only score in Finnish.Keep scoring Jesse. The more you score the more we get back for your whining hairy ass.
He'll become a UFA after the 2023-2024 season. So he will be 26 I think.
Not if he stays in Finland. He has to accrue 7 NHL seasons or turn 27. I believe the poster I responded to was assuming he was going to stay in Finland. He'll become a UFA after the 2023-2024 season. So he will be 26 I think.
That's not the issue though. Here is the actual rule:The CBA is kind of confusing with age.
He'll be 26 for basically the whole season, but it's technically his 27 year old season because he turns 27 that year.
Any Player who either has seven (7) Accrued Seasons or is 27 years of age
or older as of June 30 of the end of a League Year, shall, if his most recent
SPC has expired, with such expiry occurring either as of June 30 of such
League Year or June 30 of any prior League Year, become an Unrestricted
Free Agent.

He's got 3 seasons completed. That's not the issue though. Here is the actual rule:
Puljujarvi turns 27 in May of 2025. And as of right now he has two accrued seasons in the NHL. the earliest he could become a UFA would be 2025 since he needs 5 more years after this one to meet the 7 years.
At this point I’m hoping he decides to play for us next year, Holland says the door is and always was open to come back. He needed a full development year in another league, should have had it last year in the AHL and we wouldn’t be here. But I really think there’s still a solid 20 goal winger there once his confidence gets up.
So if you're Holland do you sell him for as little as a 2nd round pick or do you tell him that either he comes back or as long as you're GM of the team he will stay in Finland if he won't come back to play for us?
