He looks good to me too. I haven't paid much attention to him until these recent games but he's a nifty scorer around the net with a good quick shot.

We could get something good with that pick, sorry we wasted it to get rid of Walman.
In the same way that Kiiskinen's inevitable ascension to being the greatest scorer in NHL history on his way to 11 straight Stanley Cups and Conn Smythes won't make the Walman trade a good one, that trade has nothing to do with this one. Gibson for Kiiskinen + a 2nd was a big win.

The trade for the 2nd rounder and Kiiskinen would never have happened without the decision to move Walman. The Wings liked Gibson, had just signed him a few months earlier, more than a year ahead of the deadline to sign him. There was never a thought to using that Nashville 2nd round pick for their own Draft purposes, it was only there for a few hours while in transit to SJ.

Yeah, but we missed out on the next Brady Cleveland. We could've had 2 elite defenders AND Kiiskinen.

Liked Kiidkinen in the tournament. He was a stealth weapon more than a primary guy to worry about, has a good shot and good instincts for being in the right place. Like most prospects he needs to get a bit stronger but there is something to work with there.

Lukas fischer would have been my pick. We threw away a 7th in the garbage for Kris's kid but couldnt take jiri's kid when his son was an actual viable prospect lol

That walman trade will always be nonsensical. If he was so desperate to move him he should have called other GM's I'm sure we could have gotten a 2nd.

At worse 3rd and 5th

Is he driving his line on HPK? Or is he a complimentary guy? Just watching stats, he's 3 points back of the team lead in points with 11 less games played.

Your pot should honestly answer your question. Youre not a passenger with that stat line.

I think Kiss is a guy you might have to kinda plant in the minors for a bit to work out some quirks in his game before he plays in the NHL. But he's one of those guys that has a nose for the next and a knack for scoring goals. Some guys have it, some don't. The wings adding a guy in the system who has it was really smart for them as it is right now

HPK is my hometown team.

Had a difficult start to the season, showed promise but looked like he wasn't quite Liiga ready. Then we changed coaches and Kiiskinen took off, before his injury he was by far our best forward night in and night.

After the injury he struggled a bit, but started to heat up before the WJC.

Kiiskinen has showed his great shot and willingness to challenge D-men 1-on-1. He needs to improve his balance and physique, both completely workable areas of improvement. Also needs to work on his skating, but it's not a glaring issue I'd say.

Seems to be a really fun and good kid who doesn't really stress.
