Woooh. Ridin' the schadenfreude high. :D

Would have preferred Elvis get the shutout he deserved. Or the first star, Monahan's two goals notwithstanding.

Elvis most likely isn't our future in net but it certainly seems like he's learned a thing or two about being a good team mate this season. Playing his value up to future considerations or future considerations+ would be great.

And honestly he looked like an NHL goaltender tonight.

Very calm today too, loved that. Guess he just needs a bit more rest than what we were giving him.

The obvious question is do we put Tarasov on waivers, bring up Jet, and give Elvis more nights off?

Elvis won them this game. That defensive effort was putrid. Way to go Elvis
Absolutely. I was at the game and as a fan of both teams, NJ should have won this game. Jack Hughes could have and probably should have had a hat trick alone with the looks on goal he was getting and Luke wasn't far behind in opportunities.

As a side note, watching the Hughes brothers play hockey is a thing of beauty. They are all so talented. Jack's puck handling tonight was artwork. The CBJ are better than last year when I watched Luke go coast to coast by himself while the D stood around and watched but I hope Columbus can grow into the never quit attitude that NJ played with tonight.

Maybe in a perfect world. You can't play Elvis 12 games out of 13. We'll see if there is a point where they give Tarasov some trust to play again.

Forechecking is back! The game-winner by Sillinger was huge.
Defense let Elvis see the puck and he didn't let in any softies. He deserved a SO.
NJ did us a favor with that TO.
When we have the second change, we can beat anybody. (Unfortunately, that's only half the time)

I don't think NJ deserved to win the game at all. But the Hughes boys are damn good at hockey.

Twice as many shots on goal and twice as many attempted shots. Last count I saw on the scoreboard NJ had attempted 92 shots on goal to CBJ's 40.

The CBJ did block a lot of shots but I did see NJ executing a lot of cross ice passes near the crease that they didn't finish because Elvis robbed them with good lateral movement that some people have called a weakness. Many times those would be in in previous games
