Meh, the Leafs will still get 100+ points most likely. Not worried about that, but I still don’t see anything for me to think these guys will get it done in the post season. Same old same old. The core guys are simply way too soft. you can see it by the way they play. Berube can't fix that.
With Tavares and Marner's contracts set to expire, this offseason would be the time to make a go for a serious re-aligning if ownership/management are going to be serious about actually doing something different than just re-shuffling around some depth pieces and goaltending and just crossing their fingers that the postseason goes differently.

Who are they signing at a competitive price when Matthews and Nylander just got overpaid and are proven losers?

Bet they both get contract extensions too.

Wow, that's a tough market. Sharks fans would switch records with the Leafs any day of this week, next week, and probably next month.

Dying minutes in a blowout loss, what's worse? The jersey toss, or the massive patches of empty seats in Toronto?

That said, with the roads the way they are here lately I wouldn't blame anyone who sat through last night if they wanted to ditch early and try to beat the traffic.

Most games nowadays end with a bunch of empty seats.

As way to display virtue, wealth, that not that bad of a way to do it.

a bit of a competition which fanbase is the richest, Oilers or Leafs, everyone thought of it, Leafs tickets, throwing jersey, that someone with money, some could think that he his a big fan.

Costly display of fandom (painting yourself, expensive jersey, expensive tickets, etc...) are not uncommon in everything, religious, political affiliation, that deep in human DNA.

Coming from a Sabres fan, coaches only do so much. The players are what they are.
Its okay Shanny will continue to double, triple quadruple etc down until hes not here anymore. And even then our owner likely wont want any drastic player changes because that is to much risk and they need their 1 round of playoff revenue and jersey sales.

Well the expectations have to be taken into account.

The matthews window is approaching 10 years, and the leafs have a grand total of one playoff win to show for it.

If I were to tell leaf fans back in in the late 2010s that this young core of matthews, Nylander, Reilly and marner et al will have no cups by 2024, and that they will only have one playoff win under their belts, they would have called me a moron.

In contrast, nobody expects a thing out of the current iteration of the Sharks. They are lottery bound by all accounts.

Don't really see the point of the jersey toss.
But, if you stuffed a player into that jersey then launched it. Now that's sending a strong message.

Thought the thread title was a throwback to the days when cows got tossed on the ice during the Barn era.

Kids today can't even be bothered to bring livestock to the games anymore.
