I'd think Carolina has to be favored at 70% or so to win this series, which is about as high of a percentage as you'll see in the playoffs. The teams are all pretty good to excellent at this point, and hockey is a crapshot.

Last year it was extremely obvious that Freddie just couldn't handle the workload. Maybe that was just from taking half the season off with a serious medical issue, but I don't think we have much choice but to rotate Koochie in one game out of three or so if we want to avoid last year's Freddie meltdown.

The media is going all in on this series as the most "meh." Given that most of the big markets will be out of play maybe the networks will still give us a decent timeslot or two?

My son recently left NYC to relocate to the Jersey burbs. I expect I may be doing the same sometime down the road when the grandma era arrives. They're about 15 mins from the Devils arena now. Can't have the potential little one influenced by that.

While I get that logic, I believe Kooch has a much better home record while Freddie's away record is stellar (or as stellar as can be for a team with road woes like ours)

Ton of great storylines going into the first round. Considering we are small market "favorites" against a depleted Jersey team, I fully expect to play at noon on Easter. UGH. Despise Easter playoff games, let alone early ones.

Schedule might work for me to come down for game 1. Even if I can't get down, I don't have any issues with 3pm on Easter. Don't really do much of anything for Easter. I don't care for the 6pm weeknight game.

I did like it much better when the season ended on a Sunday and the playoffs started on a Wednesday. You typically would get a good weekend game if you had home ice advantage. I suppose they like the playoffs starting on a Saturday though.
