Speaking of which, I have something that is going to be checked off my lifetime bucket list in a couple weeks - Metallica live in Lane StadiumThe price point, simply put. Those fans would riot (maybe literally) if European hockey leagues were hitting them with the same kind ticket price. Ends up with a very different demographic on who buys the tickets. It's usually a much older crowd than you see in ultra sections around European leagues and far more corporate. Painfully so in some instances *coughTorontocough*.
Closest atmosphere you get to that (though not quite the same level) in North America is at the college level. Check out a Duke home basketball game or a football game from one of the bigger programs (LSU, Texas, Bama, Michigan, Penn State) or even some programs that aren't quite on that level (Oklahoma State, West Virginia, BYU, Virginia Tech).
Had a few cocktails with Mr Daneyko back before I moved, after games when then played in Raleigh. Great guy with lots of great stories. One of the best was him and Brodeur going to the Playboy mansion after they won the Stanley Cup. Ah the old days!Daneyko's smirk is the best part of all of that.
I'll be there too!Speaking of which, I have something that is going to be checked off my lifetime bucket list in a couple weeks - Metallica live in Lane Stadium
What is everyone's goalie for game 3?
Although Freddie is hot, I'd play Pyotr in Game 3. There is a quick turnaround to game 4 so Freddie would be my choice for that one.
Just had my tickets loaded into the account on Tuesday. Should be a great time!I'll be there too!
Yeah, the smirk looked just like a guy spinning his next story to the detriment of some poor shmuck who was supposed to count heads.Had a few cocktails with Mr Daneyko back before I moved, after games when then played in Raleigh.
