This is an odd defense of Stanley - appealing to the authorities who were so clearly wrong about him in the first place.
I find it hard to believe anyone is still defending Stanley. He's not what you'd call a "fan favorite" (at least among Jets fans...Jets opponents probably love him).
If the smart people had said "Hey, this guy is a bad pick here and he's being overvalued because he's huge" and then he'd turned into a Top 4 defender, then maybe you'd have a case. But the prediction became reality.
He's a borderline 3rd pairing defenseman who's been a liability on an otherwise pretty excellent team. A giant organizational blind spot, sunk-cost fallacy in action, who's been given unlimited chances to improve while the Jets let other defensemen walk away for nothing or die on the vine.
The best we can do is shrug resignedly and accept the fact that they're never giving up on this guy...no matter what it costs.
Also, I don't know why you're complaining about my robot army...and saying my post was a hissy fit. Seems like a bit of an ad hominem (but I guess I do often mock your terrible judgement, so turnabout is fair play

)
