This tournament was hopefully the medicine his head needed. His teammates genuinely seemed to love him, the way they all were hugging.
We need that Swayman, even if he only plays half the regular season games, he proved he can get through 2 rounds at a high level, 23-24s playoffs.

Nah some people love to hate. Some people will live the rest of their life thinking he is a terrible person, and teammate because he made some comment on a podcast once

My hope is that he learns from that.

If he goes out and plays like he can, he’s back on the good side of fans, no questions asked. Add in some kind of commentary about how the stress of being the guy got him but he’s been working with a sports therapist to be the guy the team and fans can depend on, and all is forgiven.

He had a shitty season. He didn’t kick a puppy.

Im glad Swayman played better as the tourney went on. Hopefully that bodes well for next season. But I'd like to ask, how tough was the competition? I know there's some NHL players playing but these arent actually best vs best games.

Saves are saves, wins are wins. The level of play, may not have been full NHL, but the pace in the last 2 games was faster than most NHL games I've seen in a while. There's a reason USA went with a younger faster lineup.
It got pretty dirty out there. Something about playing for your flag brings out more emotion than you see in the everyday NHL.

Some of us will just hate him because USA won and Canada didn't ;)

Seriously happy and hope this helps him regain his form, a decent team in front of him would do wonders as well

Is this a shot at the Bruins locker room this season?

You could read it that way but I don't think it was intentional. I see it as Sway just stating how happy he was at the tournament. He's a pretty in-the-moment, heart on his sleeve kind of guy.

I'm glad he found some form there, hopefully he can carry some of that into next season. But as with Lindholm, I don't read too much into it. Small sample, different environment, lesser opposition. Good on them, but performing day after day in the NHL will be a much sterner challenge. Both are capable of a high level, and this was a nice little reminder of that, but the hard work is still to come.

Sweden had a good squad. Swayman faced a Forward group of Forsberg, Nylander, Lucas Raymond, William Karlsson, Mika Zabinajad, Leo Carlsson, Backlund, Lindholm and Wennberg. Their D had Karlsson, Brodin, Linus Andersson and Edvinsson with Markstrom in net.

That's a WC NHL level PO Team talent wise.

As much as I try, I just can’t get my panties in a bunch about his contract or his poor performance last season. I am not worried at all. He is a very good goalie, and he has been for years. He has a chip on his shoulder and that has proven to be a very good quality for goaltenders in the NHL.

Last season his performance was not what was expected or needed. With that said, the team in front of him also underwhelmed, there were a myriad of contributing factors, but the net result was not pretty.

Goalies can bail out struggling teams and teams that are playing well can bail out struggling goalies, that has been true since the beginning of time. Unfortunately, last season this organization was struggling on both ends and no one was getting bailed out.
