Player Discussion Jeremy Swayman

Anyone who thougth Swayman was going off to the World Champions to get right and regain his confidence against lesser competition needs to think again. He blew a 5-1 lead against Norway giving up 5 goals on 18 shots. Brutal.

 🤮

And the Bruins are stuck with him. Nobody will take that contract without major retention on the part of the Bruins.

Disastrous contract from the second ink touched paper. Not hindsight whatsoever. Many of us didn't want to give Swayman more than $6M AAV and would have been fine moving on from Mr Business School and rolling with Ullmark/Bussi,

Everyone can bust Neely's balls all they want but I think he read the situation better than anyone, there is no way he wanted to give this guy that contract.

To be fair ... from the highlights that game looked like a non-contact league that favors shooters ... the only defense for a goalie is if a defenseman gets a stick in front of a shot. It wasn't just Swayman the other goalie was hung out to dry as well.

The best thing Swayman could do would be to keep his mouth shut, avoid the media, and not talk about anything. Don't talk about these games, don't talk about the Bruins, don't talk about his play last season or what he hopes for next season ... just keep his mouth shut and focus on getting his game back.

Then, if he is still with the Bruins, let his play talk for him. Talk is cheap, actions speak louder than words.

That is a fair point, it is not a tournament that is going to be hard fought, but the same people who agree with you, will also tell you how great Lindholm has been can't have it both ways. If Hampus Lindholm was playing and playing well that would be different take watching him comeback from a serious injury that would be encouraging.

The best thing they could do right now is sign DiPietro.

Yeah, didn’t realize he’s a UFA-G6.

I’m sure they’ll bring him back. Give him a one-way and let he and Korpisalo battle it out in preseason. I’d waive Korpisalo as no one is claiming that contract and he can get his wish of more playing time….. just in Providence.

That’s exactly what he needs to do. Shut his mouth.

If he’s forced to answer anything he should be like that stupid “no goals” commercial.

“I’m focusing on my game. Nothing else. I will be back at the level I can play at.”

If the US plays two of Finland, Sweden, Czechia (Pastrnak, Zacha) in the QF\SF and Canada (Crosby, McKinnon, Celebrini & Horvat) in the Finals, those games will be intense and somewhere between RS and PO level. Swayman, Lohrei and Peeke will be challenged. The way Swayman has played might see Daccord in net.

Are these games televised?

It was ultimately up to him to play in the tournament, but he could have used a break away from playing altogether after the terrible season he had. Step away, refresh and refocus in the offseason, and get ready for camp. His play this tournament is just pouring salt in his wounds.

We are stuck with him and he's shown he can take over a playoff series. Nothing to do but hope he is a Bobrovsky type and for every softie/mediocre season he has he also has a few vez level player playoff runs.

you are basically asking him to hide...
Can he talk to his therapist?
