Fun Fact: Jeff Skinner leads the Oilers in hits/60 in the playoffs.
If another forward gets in over Skinner, Skinner might as well go home for the yearI said it in the Hyman thread, Jeff has now had a chance to practise playing a playoff defensive game and has watched 14 games from the PB. If he gets in and doesn't have what it takes, he never will.
I'm cheering for him, I believe a fresh body will be helpful. Look at Kap in his first game, it's J Skinner's turn so please make us proud or Jones will likely be next man up. Unless they go 7 and 11
Find out tomorrow, sounds like Ekholm is probably a go so they could end up going 11-7Anyone know if he will be playing next game due to Hyman injury??
Have a feeling that Ekholm comes in for Stecher. The short shifts have been noticeable in this series and 11-7 complicates that strategy.Find out tomorrow, sounds like Ekholm is probably a go so they could end up going 11-7
Ideally I prefer 12-6 too. Gives stability to our defense knowing who their partner is for the whole game.Have a feeling that Ekholm comes in for Stecher. The short shifts have been noticeable in this series and 11-7 complicates that strategy.
James Hamblin, Derek Ryan. What other options are there?
Max Jones? Philp?
Yeah - I don't think is automatic at all that Skinner gets the nod.
It was one game where the whole team looked sloppy and S. Skinner couldn’t stop a beach ball. He was having pucks bounced in off him from behind the goal line and such. Hardly J. Skinners fault the Oilers lost that game. Hell, he even chipped in an assist and had 5 hits iirc
You may have predicted the future here.. kudosThis feels like a Petr Klima situation where he somehow gets back into the lineup and scores a legendary 4OT goal.
He automatically qualifies for playing 50% of his team's regular season games.Assuming the Oilers aren't clawing their way back from an 0-3 deficit this SCF, it would be cool if they put Skinner in for one game so he could get his name on the cup.
Or just petition the league to include him anyway, as other teams have done (The Blackhawks did this for Jamal Mayers in 2013, for example).

My bad, I only knew about the 1 game in the finals requirement.
Thanks for the info.
Hey, he's been a point per game in the playoffs!
He played more than 41 regular season games. His name would be on the cup regardless.Assuming the Oilers aren't clawing their way back from an 0-3 deficit this SCF, it would be cool if they put Skinner in for one game so he could get his name on the cup.
