Can we get an executive summary please?

Just general talk. I think this summarizes most of it. I enjoyed watching this.

1) Talked a little about Hutson. Gorton mentioned that he was invited to some NHL players training and the comments they heard was, this kid can play! Gave the Habs a little more insight into this ability. He also talked about Hughes considering AHL and Gorton told him that if you want him to go to the AHL, you better go with him . Gorton does throw some jabs at Hughes at times. It's comical.

2) PM asked a respectful question about how things are going with Evans. Basically, Gorton said they will keep things quiet and talk to Evans and his Agent. Habs understand how much Evans is valued with our group of players.

3) PM also said that he knows Gorton/Hughes won't deviate from their long term goal but asked Gorton what he thinks about this TDL. Gorton said they will look at options to see how to improve the team. Basically, if it's something we can afford, they will consider but there is no massive short term rental where we mortgage the future

4) Talked about how important it is for Laval to have success. Caps won back/back AHL titles and this is one of the reasons why they have rebounded so well. Testing players and having them play meaningful games in the AHL is important.

5) Talked about the growth of MSL as a coach. One of difficult things to learn is game days behind the bench and making adjustments. Like what is Cooper doing in the match-up game (for example).

We might give the Lads a little help. They deserve it. :dunno:

That to me is like what we were talking about yesterday... Y Gourde for like a 2nd or 3rd and Mesar type trades. Something we can afford but still leaves us with solid futures.

If Allen plays 40 games (Markstrom just got hurt), we get another 2nd.

Tagging @Sorinth

Hope this helps clarify the discussion from yesterday. They’re not against buying a cheap rental.

I think he said if the team is close, they'll get them a "cookie"

One other comment worth nothing

6) They talked about Primeau in the AHL and how well he is doing. Gorton said he is a good kid and works very hard. He said there is probably an NHL goalie there. Not like he thinks he will be a starter but in a few years, he could end up like Lindgren (IMO)
