I'm liking what I'm hearing. Saying all the right things.
Or that prospects rarely should play over crappy vets. That’s a big issue with a lot of coaches, but isn’t relevant to this team.Davidson brought up a point that was mentioned in some rumor or Powers comment too. That they wanted a coach who shared their vision of their prospects... hinting that some candidates didn't. Maybe not thinking there is enough size/skill up front? Maybe someone who thinks Bedard needs to be a winger?
I don’t really think the last question is important enough to make a decision on for either the coach or organization.Davidson brought up a point that was mentioned in some rumor or Powers comment too. No, but I'm not sure it matters much. He's not the type to get 4 or 5 years, so an educated guess would be that he's signed for 2 or 3.Have they released how many years Blashill is under contract for?

If he's fired a year or two before the end of his contract, that's Danny's problem.
Technically he name dropped Nazar and Vlasic. Congratulated them on their gold. Finally got around to watching the presser. Few things stuck out to me
- This was the destination he wanted to go to. Feels strongly about some of the kids, but didn't namedrop anyone (outside of Connor)
Would add that KD alluded to the fact that Blashill apprenticed with Cooper the past few years, and perhaps has learned a bit about winning in the NHL and coaching star players. Finally got around to watching the presser. Few things stuck out to me

- Watched a number of Hawks games from this past season to prepare for job, especially games near end of season
- Did not specify systems, said that him and the coaching staff will be having conversations to determine what would work best with this group
- Does not feel rushed to make the team successful, feels it's more important to develop the kids rather than bench them for more immediate help
- Officially announced that Sorenson and Michael Peca would be his assistants, with another to be announced later, the lesser coaches (goalie, video, etc) stay the same
- Has a bit of history with Sorenson and did not seem forced to keep him on staff
