I still remember in 07-08, he was on fire and having a career year until he took a bad fall into the boards and missed several months. He was truly never the same after that, which is such a shame because he seemed to be putting it together offensively.

2nd only to the near 100 stitches to the face after getting checked face first into the boards. http://www.cbsnews.com/news/wings-too-hot-for-devils/

Pando and Raffy - both recent retirees bound by this image and the reaction of one Robbie Ftorek.

Wow, 90 stitches!? I didn't realize he needed that many.

Pando and Mad Dog really piled up the injuries over the years. I still remember an image of Mad Dog after he took a slap shot to the face, he came back not long after with a visor and gauze in his nostrils with a face that looked like a rainbow it was so differently colored . I tried to find it but haven't had any luck. Two real warriors.

When I worked for the Islanders as their locker room reporter, Jay Pandolfo was the first guy I interviewed. Behind the scenes, he was a good guy that cared for his teammates and his craft. He was one of my favorite forwards along with Madden and Elias from the old days. I am grateful I got the chance to get to know him a bit (and Rolston too).

If the Devils ever did a ring of honor or had an honorary players category similar to the Isles, I would put him in there with Madden and Brylin.

Ring of honor is someting us fans have been asking the Devils to do for years now.
So is the Hall of Fame.

Players deserving to be in the Ring of Honor:

Definates: Pando, Brylin, Madden, McKay, Holik, Claude, Johnny Mac

Probables: Langenbrunner, Driver, Muller, Rafalski

Possibles: Sykora, Richer, Gomez (when he retires)

Long shots: Friesen, Verbeek, B.Gionta (when he retires)

****No way to ZP or The Russian quitter
