Value of: Jason Robertson to NJ

I agree with your statement, that the Devils want to get faster. I also think that elite players are exception to the rule, and Robertson is an elite player, and there aren't a lot of elite players for sale.

I guess we differ on what we think is an elite player.

You have high bar when talking about elite players. Robertson scored 109 points couple seasons ago and after that he has had two 80 point seasons. He had slow start to the season because of his injuries but after that he was one of the best wingers in the NHL.

Yes, I do. That's why they're elite. ;)

Robertson in NJ will be Toffoli 2.0. He'll score goals but not quite fit in with his faster linemates.
Toffoli? The guy with a career high of 73 points in 13 seasons. Has yet to put up more than 58 points in the other 12 seasons. Wow nice comparison.

Robertson in his down years puts up 80 points and 35 goals.

A likely mid to late 1st doesn't mean much to Dallas and they have lots of Mercer level or above forwards.
It’s not nothing though when they’ve consistently managed to find quality NHL players in the bottom half of the first round. And as of right now they don’t have a first until 2027

As others have said, the package would need to be Nemec + Mercer. I mean if Dallas prefers Casey then OK maybe they go that route but they are getting whichever RHD from NJ that they want.
