The big questions remain.
What will Kekalainen's role be and what will he be tasked with?
Is he going to live and work here full time? Or is he just on the hotline to weigh-in if Adams needs him, collecting a paycheck, and waiting for a better opportunity?
Is kekalainen purely an Adams underling? Or does he have more teeth and he will communicate with ownership? Whose hire is this? Pegula? Adams? (Im sure they will claim it was collaborative like the mass of gray area that is the Sabres).
What does this do to the stable of assistant GMs in waiting (Jakubowski, Crowe, Fart-on, Nightingale, Etc).
Does Kekalainen have enough pull where he can push for changes (with any of the changes above, coaching staff, etc?)

I think that’s very possible if next season doesn’t see the Sabres on a markedly improved trajectory.
In any event, bringing someone into the fold who has actual FO experience outside of Buffalo can only be positive.

I am also wondering if he gives up his senior advisor role with HIFK in Liiga.
If he retains both roles, it may be more of a remote gig and he picks up the phone when Kevyn asks for advice.
I doubt he sticks around long if he breaks chain of command, as well.

I would have much preferred Adams being gone, Jarmo being GM, and another experienced voice being President.
But given how much Kevyn's direction changes with every addition, the hope is having an actual adult in the room brings some much needed changes.

Meh. Don't like that he's reporting to Kevyn. He's not exactly coming from the best organization that knows how to win. But he has worn many hats (Dir. of Player Personnel, Dir. of Amateur Scouting).
My major hope is that he gets in Kevyn's ear to get in Terry's ear that our scouting department badly needs some major investment.
We shall see.

It’s pretty standard to say what a new hire’s job title is and who they answer to.
Hey, a hire with some experience that isn't inside our gong show organization. That's good.
I like the hire. I'm just hoping this isn't LaFontaine 2.0 where he's here for like 2 weeks until he sees how much of a sh*t show it is and bails.

What's the incentive for JK?
Is there a plan for him to take over GM and KA to become "president" where he still answers to him? I'm not sure why JK would do this?
