Finally. He shouldn't be reporting to Kevyn but it's a start.
I wouldn't be planning the parade yet. There were rumblings that the team culture in Columbus was terrible in the last few years of Jarmo's tenure as GM.
It seemed like every year in the last few under Jarmo, there was some story about a player being pissed off and leaving Columbus under a cloud. And then there was the horrendous Babcock hire. But at the same time it can’t be much worse in Buffalo….What does that even mean? I said it is a start.. no parade planning.
I'll worry about culture when there is an ounce of competence in the front office.
Dude is more of a scout than a GM.
Was he? Consider where the organization was when he joined it, and when he left it.Why? He was horrible for Columbus.
No he wasn't. Sure it went bad in the end, but a lot goes into that. Starting with star players leaving for more attractive destinations. Why? He was horrible for Columbus.

They are going out of their way to build the worst staff in the league, they have to be, that is the ONLY logical explanation because this man was an embarrassment in Columbus
Damn they really look for the worst and dullest to hire
To be fair, working for the Sabres you’re guaranteed to see palm trees by April every yearI see not everyone fancy palm trees.![]()
The shit he took over the Babcock hire really pisses me off. The guy had baggage (which in fact IS THE ONLY REASON HE WOULD EVEN ANSWER A PHONE CALL FROM A NON GLAMOR FRANCHISE) but had a Hall Of Fame resume. They took a risk, it blew up quick and in reality it did no real damage to the organization. Was he? Consider where the organization was when he joined it, and when he left it.
People love to talk about the Babcock hiring, which was obviously a huge mistake and rightfully got him fired. But he did a lot of good things in Columbus. Drafted well, made some pretty savvy trades, actually got the team to be competitive in the playoffs for the first time in their existance...
People look at Columbus now as this young, upcoming team. Wadell has done f*** all, except hired Dean Evason. All the foundation there was built by Kekäläinen.
Absolutely hilarious you are in every Sabres thread lashing out at us ever since your team once again got the boot after imploding. They are going out of their way to build the worst staff in the league, they have to be, that is the ONLY logical explanation because this man was an embarrassment in Columbus
I wouldn't go that far, but the Sabres have made a Conference Final more recently than the Leafs, and that's extremely funny to meThe Leafs are still the Sabres bitch.
