Jared Bednar & Co. Discussion Thread

Is Joe Sacco is available

According to AI, his contract with the Rangers is not publically detailed. However, AI also said prior to the Bruins he was our assistant coach. *LOL* Daily reminder to not believe everything you see on the internet, especially if AI is involved.

Even if Joe Sacco was available... the question is, would he apply on time?

AI is a pox.

If you take that first year away, which was an abomination and anomaly (didn't get a pre-season, didn't get one choice about a player on the roster, accepting a job in VERY tough circumstance), look at these results:

> 8 seasons, 8 playoff appearances (1 Stanley Cup)
> 17th, 17th, 3rd, 1st, 2nd, 7th, 8th, 8th (average 7th OR top 22% of the league)

Compare that to some of the coaches being discussed here. Ooof.

I'd like to think that CMac giving MacKinnon, Nelson, Coyle, Drury as center depth to Bednar will not go unnoticed. But I'm a realist. The thought of him building the best 4 line balance he can to enable him to run 4 lines... will never happen. I'd like to say he has the 4th line figured out but LOC is OOC until Decemberish.

We all draw up perfect line combos for the players we have. Bednar seldom sees the game the same. His complete overloading the top line at all costs eventually takes a toll on the very idea of a team concept.

I wonder if anyone could walk into Ball and say im the assistant coach now and the Avs would just roll with it?

I know AC isn't very exciting but can't you just name one already

I wonder if we'll have some news on this front soon. There were some rumblings that the Stars were eyeing Malholtra. Now that his season is over, maybe the Stars make their decision of HC? And if they pick someone else besides Neil Graham (Texas Stars HC), maybe he wants to jump ship?
