I just realized that after Montreal we have LA and Boston, then a 5 game road trip. Yesterday's game has become an even harder pill to swallow. Montreal isn't that good. We better beat them. LA and Boston are both much better. There's no tangible reason why we should suck in their building as opposed to another.

It's about the intangibles :D

SnowblondNYO plos,

Gotta score first :sarcasm:

yeah we did blow a 5-0 lead, but the game went to a shootout and we lost in a shootout, so its not as bad as completly blowing a 5-0 lead and losing in regulation, never the less I absolutely hate the habs and all their monopolized cups they won under a corrupt system that was in place back in the original 6 era, (yeah look up the history and the flawed rules that were in place) I hope we beat them down on Saturday night, I can't stand them

Ah, the 6-5 debacle. One of the best games I've seen (even though we were on the wrong end of it) ruined by a stadium full of tard fans who had to start throwing things on the ice. There's only 1 real rule about being in attendance at a sporting event; don't physically interfere with the game. All respect for Montreal as a hockey Mecca lost after that.

I went to bed when it was 5-0. Litterary got a shock when I woke up the next morning and saw the score.

I'm assuming you're in Europe, I lived in the Czech Republic during that time, so I know your pain. Of course went to sleep as well haha. Woke up, did my regular HF check, and...yeah.

My teams all suck, so I know to never assume any lead is safe. I've learned to sense the impending collapse. The Mets in particular have helped me refine this talent.

I guess it's your fault that these teams suck.

The Rangers never win in Montreal. Messier's first game as a Ranger was an OT winner in Montreal, their first win there since 1983.

Hell, even Guy Lafleur's return to Montreal was ruined by blowing a 4-2 lead in the third period.

The three wins in Montreal in 1996 was a friggin miracle. Some say it was because of the new building. But overall, Montreal has been a house of horrors for this franchise.

They never win there. Henrik's GAA in Montreal beginning with the 5-0 choke is like 4.50

Play Talbot.

What so many people forget about that 5-0 lead was that the Rangers weren't exactly playing all that well. Seemed like the Rangers scored the 5 goals on something like 8 shots, and the Montreal crowd never turned on the Habs as they usually do in situations like that.

If I recall correctly, the comeback started because of a bad call against the Rangers and a Montreal PP goal, and then another one right after that.

I remember saying to my wife at the time, that if there was ever going to be a 5-0 comeback, it's happening tonight.

canadiens play tonight in Columbus and then have to travel home to play the rangers, this better be a win for the rangers, no excuses, just watch out for the "typical montreal" calls:shakehead

Last time the Rangers scored a goal in Montreal. They lost 4-1.
March 17, 2009, the last time they won a game in Montreal (shootout)
February 3, 2008, the last time they won a game in regulation in Montreal.

Can they please change all of this on Saturday?
