Pretty much.

Tuesday's game is actually one of the game nights where I don't think I'll be able to even recoup my costs for the game. As a Coyotes full season ticket holder, I pay a flat rate of $23 per game on average.

One night, a Saturday night against Chicago, I was able to sell my ticket for $70. For Tuesday night, I may struggle to find someone to give my ticket to for free.
Jesus. It costs me that much to see the WHL team here

I bought tickets for a Coyotes game the last time I was down there. After that, the Coyotes kept calling me to sell me more tickets even though I don't live in Phoenix

For future reference, what's the cheapest way to pick up tickets down there?

The practical value of a Coyotes ticket is based primarily on the day of the week and the opponent. The latter is a more common factor than the former.

To determine the overall demand for a game, I generally just check seatgeek.com or stubhub.com to look at general asking prices of resale tickets. 70% of the time or so, resale prices are lower than box office prices. The other 30% of the time, box office prices are cheaper than resale prices, if you're lucky enough to get seats from the box office before the game sells out.

Being a STH, I pay far below the face value of the single game price in my section, so I'm biased. If I can't make a game, I can actually fairly often re-sell my ticket for a price that's higher than my personal per-game price as a season ticket holder, but still cheaper than the box office single game price, so everyone wins.

... except the profitability of the franchise, perhaps.

Hudler plays hockey like he plays chess, often putting his opponents in Czech.

One thing I notice about having bought Coyotes season tickets, as compared to other teams around the league, is that the full season per-game price is drastically cheap as compared to the single game price. If you wanted my seat at the single game price, it would be $45. Considering the section where I sit (upper bow sides inside the blue line), the "single game" price isn't too far off the NHL average. Lower, yes, but not drastically.

The full season ticket price per game is $23. That's nearly a 50% discount. In most other markets, full season ticket holders get more like 5-10% off the single game price.

Big difference.

Very interesting.

Never learned so much about Phoenix in such a short span.

I see you are beginning to come onto the Flames. ;)

Are you watching a Colorado stream? Did they say anything at all when the Flames scored? I always cracked up watching Altitude because whenever the Flames score, the commentators suddenly lose their voices.

Yes I am watching them because I cannot stand SD channels; I need HD!

And funnily enough, the Avs announcer have actually given some good emotion when the Flames have scored!

watch them play there way out of the bottom three, win the lottery :rant::rant:

That's what worries me the most. :(

Yeah I think I paid $30 for my upper bowl tickets from ticket master against Columbus and I paid $85 for the lower bowl tickets when I went to watch the Flames. I just found the pics I took while I was there.

I like the Flames a bit. Enjoyed their 2004 playoff run. Was sad to see the Bolts eventually prevail (missed games 6 and 7 of the SCF because of a vacation though).

HF Boards has oddly enough really influenced my opinions on various teams. For a few months now I've enjoyed coming onto various team boards and watching random games whilst posting in one of the teams' game day thread. It's not really too logical, but the more welcoming and nice the regular posters are, the more inclined I am to like their team for no real other reason. The Flames board has been generally quite nice and welcoming to me.

A few team boards have been hostile/unwelcoming/practically told me to GTFO. One of them was the Avs. To hell with them in which case. :P

I too enjoyed trolling. It sucks I became a mod and had to "set an example" :sarcasm:
