Wow you are so right you showed me, go pat yourself on the back and thank Wally for actually digging up the work for you. Jac

You're the one that requested it. Funny that you aren't thanking him. :naughty:

It's not going to change my opinion that Julien sees Spooner as a necessary evil and if Kemp wasn't an offensive back hole, and Spoons wasn't deadly on the PP, he'd be taken over for him. Hell yesterday Julien had Spooner on Krejcis wing in practice. It's possible Spooner doesn't even play center tonight.

Horror of horrors! He's playing him on ... THE TOP LINE!! [insert dramatic horror music and evil Clode laughter.]

He is pulling him off center, after he said he was soft. Who is right now? Oh right, goal posts move because its first line. Haha...

Lol. Your self-professed vindication is cute.

He put him with Bergeron and Marchand to spark some offence from that line, and they scored, thanks to a beauty of a pass from Spooner to Marchand. But that's just Clode putting young players in a position to fail.:shakehead

Then Clode had the gall to make him the first shooter in the shootout!! He must really hate that kid!

Fine with me if you keep on believing the world is flat.

Still waiting to hear your negative spin on Julien's comments, but I suspect we'll get nothing but crickets chirping on that score.

Come on, Clode had said Spooner had stuff to work on and needed to get better. I'm amazed that Ryan managed to survive such horror. Even Eddie Shore was never that vicious.

Or he'd have them figure out how to play more responsibly in all three zones AND contribute offensively, like his other two centers do. The ones who get significantly more ice time and the clear best players on this team.

Seriously, we have two perfect models for players who can bring it offensively and play responsibly everywhere else. Why is it when our coach tries to mold the younger players in that fashion we all assume he wants Chris Kelly's? Is it just to fit a narrative? He has two centers who play the right way, and he asks his younger players to play that way too. What's wrong with that?

Not one single thing.

“It was fun. In the third, I think we were in their end the entire time and I think for me it’s just trying to pick up on where to go and all that kind of stuff,†said Spooner. “They like to move a lot so I need to get to the front of the net, and just kind of pick up on what they’ve been doing.â€

“For sure. I thought we clicked right away, and [Spooner] is a great player. He’s very skilled and we know he can make plays, which he showed,†said Marchand. “So I thought we did click pretty well right away and he’s a centerman so we just have to…he has to adjust to playing the wing and we have to adjust to that as well. The more we talk and we play together and practice, we’ll get in sync a little more.â€

“It was a new experience for him to play on the right side. Just had to look at our situation and try to put some skill there with Bergy [Patrice Bergeron] and see how that would work. But at the end of the day he’s still a centerman,†said Claude Julien. “So far this year we’ve been doing a lot of experimenting with certain things against certain teams. Certainly looking to hopefully get some stability here down the road, but right now we’re just looking at our options.â€

Go figure.......looks like all is well.

It's not a long term solution since Spooner is a natural center but to try and get a spark going with the offense, I think it's great. I'm not surprised they got on the board last night.

It's been frustrating watching that spot continuously get filled with someone who isn't close to their level and can't do anything with the chances they get. The offense needs to get going if this team is going to get in to the playoffs.

Thumbs up to Clode for trying it out.

I already said pat yourself on the back for Wally digging up positive comments.

The fact is he doesn't like Spooner at center. His latest comment said he was soft on the puck and now he is playing wing. Just justifying cause it's "moving up a line" but truely it's because he doesn't like spooner at center. Even Julien can't hide his offense instincts and his ability on the pp but certainly doesn't have his trust as a center.
