Love him but another dumb recall. This probably won’t work. Make a deal for another vet or call up Hughes. You have to let Dobes develop in the ahl. This move will probably blow up in their faces given how crappy the schedule is.
KH says he’s going to let guys develop in Laval, then does this. Again.

Hughes is a career minor leaguer & was never signed to play NHL games.

Dobes has spent 1.5 years “developing in AHL” - he should see quite a bit of game time IMO

As for the schedule, Habs will be fine.. I’m expecting min 4-of-6 pts to close out Dec - as long as Laine isn’t injured longterm which doesn’t appear to be the case

only stinker is Newhook and we see Dach
overall just fine. no GM is perfect. Sam P was perfect

Are you sure? (from another post I made recently):

Newhook for a 1st and 2nd round draft pick.

Lehkonen for Barron.

Romanov for Dach (basically) is debatable right now, but Dach is looking bad after his knee was torn to shreds.

Reinbacher instead of Michkov, or Leonard, etc, etc.

Signing Slafkovsky to a big contract after he had half a good season.

It makes no sense not to call up players who have excelled in Laval.
They have developed and need to get their feet wet at the next level sooner than later.

It isn't going to hurt anyone and will give them an idea of what they need to be work on if they have to go back.
Owen Beck keep your head up you are next.

If I'm not mistaken, even though the trade freeze lifts tonight at midnight, I believe you can place a player on waivers as of today. Now I could be wrong about that. If they can waive players today, we'll see around 2PM if Habs place Primeau on waivers to send him to Laval.

If he's not on waivers, it could be one of two reasons:

1 - they have a trade in place waiting for the freeze to be lifted.
2 - they can't place a player on waivers yet and they're waiting to waive him tomorrow.
They can probably waive players at 2pm today since waivers clear 24 hours later and the players stay on the roster until then and after getting waived they can still be kept on the roster too, waiving doesn't necessarily equal sending down.

But they aren't really in any hurry to move Primeau unless they need a roster spot for someone else.

1.5 years in the AHL is more than fine
He should be very motivated.

As for Primo, should expect a trade? Waivers??

They can't just waive Primeau.. then you are one injury away from Hughes coming up and Laval having no one.

They need another goalie in the mix.
Wouldn't they just call up an ECHL goalie?

Wonder what the plan will be as Laval just has the 2 games at home vs the Crunch and then the Nucks for 2 at home next weekend but after that the schedule gets rough with only 2 games against sub .500 teams between Jan 10th and Feb 17th.

Laval has a 1 pt lead over 3 teams and then there's the Sens who are 8 pts back of us but have 3 games in hand and we play them twice in the coming weeks.

Laine making the trip to FLA, likely means he’s good to play.
