Dobes gave us a chance. Very good backup at the very least

I have the most faith in Dobes to be our starter. He just has it in him, he's hyper weird, which is a pre-requisite, hes super athletic, he's big and he's very young.

They really needed to insulate him better. He had to make way too many 10 bell saves as a rookie goalie in the playoffs. They didn't even come off of break downs from us pushing hard to tie.

The team didn't have gas left in the tank for another miracle comeback.

Dobes did well. I think it's a shame Monty didn't get a chance to play through this series, but i don't think it would have changed the outcome.

He was thrust into a very difficult situation as a 23 year old rookie goalie. He did as well as you could hope for the moment.

He's got some nice potential and we'll see how he develops. Probably need a little interview coaching (media) aswell

Amazing for him to experience the NHL playoff atmosphere, as well as playoff game action. It's a different beast and he knows to what extent now. Nice bit of exposure for a guy his age, and having that in the books will only help him.

Considering the circumstances I thought he did a very good job. Was not at all the reason we lost the series.

If he wants to be a starter he definitely needs to work on his movement, but he's a very good shot stopper.

He did the job and what we needed to do, at the end of the day, if it wasn't for that stretch he had during and after the holidays, we wouldn't have made the playoffs. He deserves to be back next season as a backup up until it's Fowler time!!

The metric is still very highly flawed.

It's a small sample. That goal that bounced off Caufield probably had a big impact on his numbers.

Not really though. We didn't think he'd be as bad as he was this year, but it wasn't clear he'd be a good backup.

Dobes has obvious NHL potential.

Primeau has mental issues. Very hard to overcome. Dobes has technical shortcomings - that's much easier to coach.
