It's so funny that there's these teams that have been lost in the woods for like 30 years trying to find goalies and we find a legitimate top 10-15 goalie in the sport on waivers and have Dobes start like this.
The Habs have always found the best goalies out of nowhere, our history proves it. If we could only have that luck translate itself at the center ice position......

I love what I am watching in Dobes and I am trying to restrain myself, I am guilty of being way too high or way too low in what I see in players but he is goddamn impressive and someday I would love to see him skate around the ice with a cup over his head. I don't think I ever saw a goalie that big move so quickly across the crease and still be such a big target while doing it.

Pricer moved fast but often gave up the top of the net when doing so but not this kid. He moves like those tabletop hockey goalies of my youth lol. He stands tall while rocketing across the crease and I wish he could play every game.

I had forgotten about Mike "Latex" Condon.
Met him once, chill guy.

Was in Niagara falls one night. Passed by him but didn't want to bother him so walked through no biggie. As we pass I turn to my buddy and was like "yo that was Mike condon"

Then Mike heard and turns around and introduces himself haha we ended up getting a pic, solid dude

Did anyone expect this guy to come in and be this dominant? He's like Halak out there. Fowler, Monty and Dobes? Something has gotta give, and it's a nice spot to be in. He looks so damn calm out there, and big. I know he may come down to earth , and maybe the team is just playing that much better in front of our goalies.. but wow!

MONTREAL CANADIENS GOALIES STREAK CAREER DEBUT:

View attachment 962712

Great ! If you were a TSN Reporter you could predict on the Air that you See him having a career between Condon and Vezina! ;)

Dobes should be the new #1 goalie going forward if we wanna make the playoffs
Montembault has also been pretty solid and you don t want to out all the pressure on a rookie if you don t need to. It s 4 games in 6 days from today onwards so they should split the games 50/50 anyways

Fowler can spend two years in the AHL with a few call ups. Miller and Volokhin might join him.

He's a goalie prospect, so a late 1st?
I think he puts up Askarov numbers in the AHL and becomes a sought after commodity. Don't get me wrong I am in no way saying he isn't Montreal's future #1, I am saying that if Dobes becomes a great #1 you have to look at what Fowler can bring you. It is nice to have these riches.

Did anyone understand what was Slaf yelling at Dobes during his post game interview? He was laughing pretty hard. :D

Some journalist wrote it down, but I don't remember which one or the exact quote. It had something to do with Dobes being Czech.

Not at all, I thought for sure he would get exposed because he is too aggressive in net. I have said that out of all the goalie prospects for the Habs that I have ever seen, he's been the most entertaining. He has a short temper and it's fun to see him go wild when he gets bumped, though since his USHL days he's really toned it down.
