We should trade him 'cause he still has some value. Maybe a 3rd or a 4th draft selection. Anyway, he's too old for our contender window1st game : 0G
2nd game : 1G
3rd game : 2G
Numbers don’t lie, He’s gonna give up 3 goals next game. Don’t ever play him again. Trade him!!
Jack Spider = Genesis76 2.0It takes like 10 seconds to see he's not elite. Look at how he looks through traffic on the PK. He's on his toes. An elite goalie like Price will crouch and is ready to make a save.
A good coach like Cooper won the final by exploiting Price's weakness in 2021. Shots from the point through traffic. And a good one timer from a right-handed shot. Thats where you need a good team.
I like 2 songs from genesis.Jack Spider = Genesis76 2.0
Other than his fantastic play, he totally sucks. Good analysis. It takes like 10 seconds to see he's not elite. Look at how he looks through traffic on the PK. He's on his toes. An elite goalie like Price will crouch and is ready to make a save.

I'll be more than happy to eat my words and say I'm wrong. I'm a simple man. I'm not saying you can't win with him, just that he's not gonna be a top goalie.Other than his fantastic play, he totally sucks. Good analysis.
That's what you want from your goalie: win the game even if you don't play as well as you would like. Not perfect, his worse game of the 3 BUT made the right save at the right moment.

Well that was definitely a simple analysis, the ten second toe test.I'll be more than happy to eat my words and say I'm wrong. I'm a simple man. I'm not saying you can't win with him, just that he's not gonna be a top goalie.
I thought Tampa was the only team to execute a good game plan against us. Nevermind Kucherov cap. It was their D who controlled the play. And Price always had a problem with right handed shots. They won because they could ice a team worth 30M-40M$ more than the Habs. Canadiens had around 20M of dead cap (Drouin, Tatar, Allen, Alzner). Meanwhile, the lightning had a 100M$ cap, all in the context of a low tax state vs high tax Canadian province. Coaching had nothing to do with them being able to shoot through traffic, which is every goaltender in history's weakness. Every single good playoff team does it. The disparity in talent was what won.
I'll also add that there's nothing productive in comparing peak Price, a likely HOF goaltender, to a rookie goaltender in his 3rd game. Even if you do, there's nothing brave about saying someone won't be what almost no goaltender in the world manages to become (elite).
It was an egregiously poor comparison anyways as the technique that he described is exactly how Vasilevskiy plays........is Vasilevskiy not elite? Has Tampa not won Cups with him in net? How does one site the Lightning cup win against us without even knowing that it was Vasilevskiy himself who made the technique that was being described popular lol????They won because they could ice a team worth 30M-40M$ more than the Habs. And lets be real, no one has him slotted in as a top goalie. He was a long shot pick out of the USHL. If he becomes a solid backup thats a home-run….. a starter, a walk off grand salami. We are playing with house money so no need to overthink this.

It's always sad when fans come in here with entirely baseless comments and think they have something profound to say.
Dobes reminds me most of Tim Thomas mixed with a very young Roy as he is extremely athletic and equally as aggressive/emotive. He oozes confidence and charisma which should help him shake off bad goals when they happen. I am not saying that he is going to be as good as the two goalies that I mentioned but stylistically he is a hybrid of the two as well as sharing the same competitive fire and confidence.
Dobes' glove is what concerns me the most and we will see if that is something that team's start keying in on and attempt to exploit. Hopefully he will adjust as quickly as they surely will.
Draft position is irrelevant with goalies....it is very common to see late picks become top starters in the NHL.
Lay off the shrooms Jack!I'll be more than happy to eat my words and say I'm wrong. I'm a simple man. I'm not saying you can't win with him, just that he's not gonna be a top goalie.

What does that even mean???? Is objectivity a problem for you?Awww shit here we go again

Hahahahah hey man you have to relax
It is saturday morning, snowy day, pour a little Irish Cream in your coffee you've worked hard all week you deserve it.
Primeau's glove hand was disgusting in the NHL. I hope we dont relive that with Dobes is all I meant by it.
That save Dobes made last night reminded me of the save Ken Dryden made on Jim Pappin in the 1971 finals. Dobes reminds me of Dryden with his size and reflexes.
I've been a big Genesis fan ever since the release of their 1980 album, Duke. Before that, I really didn't understand any of their work. Too artsy, too intellectual.
His fundamentals with respect to the use of his posts and lateral movement are there.I'll be more than happy to eat my words and say I'm wrong. I'm a simple man. I'm not saying you can't win with him, just that he's not gonna be a top goalie.
