Jake Sanderson vs Moritz Seider

Sanderson stocks are slightly under priced right now.

Was a stud defensively but now is on an bender offensively lately and really figured that side of the game out. Betting he will be in Norris contention next year

Sanderson easily, younger with less games under his belt and already better. He's just starting to figure out the offensive side of the game while being great on the defensive end, he's got a higher ceiling.

Seider for me. Their offense and defense are close enough to each other and I prefer the more physical player in the end. Both great young defenseman. Unfortunately I think seiders development stalled a bit under Lalonde.

I wouldn’t say it’s easy, that’s pretty ridiculous, this year will be the first year Sanderson has had that will be better than seiders. Every other year Seider was better. I think they are very close to each other, though Sanderson has had a really good year development wise and could be better long term.

Actually I'd say Sanderson was better last season, and for the majority of this season was worse than Seider. But recently, Sanderson has completely turned up a notch and has definitely outplayed Seider.

Ultimately it's super close, I give the marginal edge to Sanderson, but I'd kill to have Seider on the Sens.

Seider was definitely better in Sandersons rookie season.

Yeah I don’t get how you can argue that for last year, Seider had more points and had more hits and blocked shots by quite a lot. Sounds like a homer thing to say. This year Sanderson has been better though, but notably the past 20 games. His point total has sky rocketed. I’ve been impressed with how many multi point games he’s had.

I still wouldn’t trade Seider for Sanderson in any circumstances, as good as Sanderson is. The red wings are a soft team overall and a guy like Seider who gets you 40-50 points, is a RD and gets you 200 hits per season is an extremely valuable. Only one player has had 200 BS, 200 Hits and 40 points in a season in the past decade and his name is Mo Seider. I think both players are where they should be.

I think zub and Sanderson is just a really good pairing, meanwhile we have Seider carrying that bum Ben Chiarot up and down the ice every night.

For last season, I feel Seider having just 4 more points on a team that scored far more often while having worse on ice impact in metrics doesn't deserve the title of being the better player.

I actually think as a whole Seider has been superior this season compared to Sanderson, BTW.

His metrics just suck with Chiarot yet we continue to force him to play with him. Seider was also seeing some of the toughest usage for any defenseman ever in the modern era. I think Lalonde and our management have sort of stalled his development, by making him carry pairings and our defense so much.

seider was overrated as a rookie and just never lived up to the insane hype. still a good player but has been surpassed by other young defenseman like sanderson
