Brilliant, why didn’t anyone think of just signing RD for 4 mill??
This is so true - it's easy to say, "sign a guy". What's harder is to determine exactly who is available in that salary band, and with term that makes sense. The list starts getting short very quickly. Right hand shot defencemen who can actually play in the league are hard to find - it's why Cody Ceci still has a gig and will likely be able to play a few more seasons. You can safely assume that Staios would have preferred to sign a guy like Jensen in free agency, and move Chychrun to recover a first round pick, but the reality is that players like Jensen are under contract with someone and require moving a significant asset to acquire...

Imagine Sandy was the one playing with Jensen.

He's had some growing pains but if he had a solid top 4 partner he would be playing way better.

We are very, very lucky to have both him and Chabot back there. That's an amazing 1-2 punch on the left side.

Jake the Snake with the winning goal in OT over the Canucks. 3 point night for him. He had a 3 assist night versus Tampa early in the season.
I would like to see him jump into the play more often. He would have more than 2 goals if he would pinch more often and join the rush. Hopefully this goal will give him more confidence. With his speed he can easily skate back if he does jump into the rush.

Kleven had a rough night with the puck.
It's amazing how quickly perspective changes.

We're on the road. The other team is doing a great job of getting their top guys out against our bottom pair. Their top guys are both top 20 offensive players the last several years.

We give up 25 shots.

Wasn't that long ago that keeping it under 40 might have been the best we could hope for

Sandy’s got wheels for days. It’s amazing how he just doesn’t get beat back to his own zone even when the opposition has a few steps on him.

How many breakaways has he stopped by turbo skates and clean stick work/ checking?

All of them.

Yep.

I'm not slamming him, but he fought the puck and made some Haminic-like passes to the other team when we had full control.

I like his progress and potential.

There was that play where he stopped a 2 on 1 by literally engaging the one guy and then cutting across and taking the other guy.

Ferraro was impressed.

The separation he created with Miller for the GWG looked so easy
