After the "Big 5" forwards (Misa, Hagens, Martone, Desnoyer, and Frondell), O'Brien and McQueen (assuming he is healthy) are going to be in the next tier of players picked. So two questions:
1. Between the two of them, who do you favor and why?
2. How high in the draft would you take your favored choice?

McQueen easily. Think people forget how good a healthy McQueen is. Could've easily challenged for top 3 in this draft. He'll drop due to the health questions, but if you're assuming health isn't a problem, he's a different level of talent from O'Brien. I don't think that's even close.

I'd consider McQueen at the end of the top 10. I'd consider O'Brien around 15.

A healthy McQueen, the same guy who in his 17 year old season didn't even put up ppg? if he was 5 weeks older he would have been in last years draft with that ppg.

You can bet someone will gamble on McQueen somewhere in that 6-8 range imo. Shit Nolan Patrick had health concerns and still got taken at 2. We’ve seen it time and time again, you just hope guys can find a way to stay healthy with professional training staffs / docs.

A healthy McQueen? I’d take him over O’Brien. But that’s not what we have here. I like O’Brien more than most. I have him at 6th overall. Based on what I saw last season, I’d probably have a healthy McQueen around 3-5. But the McQueen we have? More around 7-9 IMO.

Absolutely

He’s the same tier as O’Brien but O’Brien has no health concerns so it would be a MASSIVE gamble taking McQueen

GMs always overdraft for height/size, so unless the medicals are bad, I would fully expect McQueen to go before O'Brien. I can't say much about him as I only saw him play once or twice. I have liked O'Brien since watching a good bit of him last year when he was teammates with Xhekaj, but if he's a top 5 or 10 pick then this draft is weaker then I thought. Granted I don't watch much draft eligible prospects though and don't really care, my only concern is the Habs make the best picks possible.

I may be in minority here, but I would take O'Brien over McQueen even without *future* health concerns. I am stressing future, because I do not think you can ignore the fact that McQueen has missed practically the whole season due to injury, and so did not show development progress that others (including O'Brien) did. I also feel that O'Brien style fits better into top-6 C role at the next level.
