Jake Muzzin scary injury

Reminded me a lot of Subban's injury at the end of his time on the Habs. Axial loading the neck while falling into another player.

Scary that he couldn't get up, I hope it's something relatively minor, and the stretcher was precautionary.

His body goes all wonky after the crosscheck. Either Dubois really unloaded on his back or he got him in a really bad place.

I didn't even consider if it was from the initial crosscheck. Could be lower-back related in that case.

Hopefully it doesn’t end being too serious and Muzzin is ok

Hopefully Muzzin is alright and plays next game. I know the above clip is not at the normal pace, but the impact doesnt look too vicious. If i saw it out of context I would have thought the Jackets player blew out his knee.

It's hard to tell what part of this actually caused the injury. It looked like Muzzin was already going down HARD from the cross-check and then the head collision to the knee was from a really dangerous angle. Yikes ugly all around. Hope they were being overly cautious, but that was really an ugly play.

Innocent play with an unfortunate result.

But I think it was mostly just precautionary, as he had movement in his limbs and was awake/alert. I'd guess something just wasn't quite 100% how it should feel so they played it safe rather then have something worse result.
I’m sorry, there’s nothing innocent about cross checking a guy in that position of the ice. That’s a weak sauce reaction to watching that play.

We're thinkin of you Muzz! Hopefully just precautionary.
Dubois is 6'3 220 lbs. I think any man is gonna feel a crosscheck to the back from him. That being said, it's a freak accident. No player can predict a crosscheck leading to the other guys head hitting another players leg and wrenching back.

Probably a stinger. Hoping that they are just being extra cautious.

To me it looks like he is mostly out of it after the cross check as he looks out of control immediately after. Weird! Not sure I have seen one quite like this.

That crosscheck wasn't innocent by any stretch of the imagination. Did you only watch the small clip of the end result in this thread?

Yikes looks ugly, hopefully not spinal cause that could be career. Hope for the best here and is pre cautionary and is back this series

It looked like the injury happened when he hit the players knee and bent his neck. The EMS was assessing his neck and Muzzin kept pointing to it too. Right after the check, which should have been a penalty. He looked like he was trying to clear the puck and hit his head the knee; if I had to wager, I'd say that cause the injury.
