I wouldv've agreed with you prior to this signing.
Now theres just no room to have dach waste our time.
Buy him out, dump him. IDC. The team deserves a chance to compete. They need a 2C and we can waste ice time on a guy that has no role. We have plenty of young guys that are coming up like Demidov and Beck that should be full time next year. I would even resign Armia over keeping Dach.

The last GM was a very stupid person, terrible deals, just the worst. Should never have had the job. But we’ll fix all that. We have a plan - the best plan - ever - it will be the best team you’ve seen, let me tell you.

This deal is the "payoff" of a GM/org.leadetship that prioritizes treating players respectfully, even in offloading them. Habs are building a culture that players want to be a part of, and that shows up when it comes down to contract negotiations.

Evans quite likely gets more, if not considerably more on the open market this summer... And that's before you consider exchange rates & taxes.


Evans as a bottom 6 & PK pillar for the next 4 seasons, at under 3M, is a huge win for the Habs. Kudos to KH, and kudos to Jake for recognizing what a great career opportunity is in front of him as this team makes its push into playoff and contender status.
