Question for any poster who is a lawyer or has some experience:

1. Does a restraining order carry over from one state to another?
2. Do restraining orders carry over from the US to Canada?

I hope the league and teams ban this woman permanently because she's clearly not going to stop and I don't think there is anything precluding her from traveling over the boarder.

The fact that she showed up in Vancouver to continue stalking Jake and Mia is pretty terrifying, and her tweets are completely unhinged. Hopefully the Canucks provide full time security detail for them because she should be considered dangerous to their security, there have been many celebrities murdered by their stalkers in the past(eg. John Lennon, Rebecca Schaeffer, Christina Grimmie).

She has that obsessive personality disorder thing. And now she probably likes the negative attention that she gets.

Usually big celebrities have a few of these ppl stalking them. But Debrusk isn't exactly Micheal Jackson. So that's what makes this strange.

Debrusk has been good. iMO he has 7 million dollar hands. And if he was more consistent , he'd be making that.

Who knows what causes a person to latch on and develop a parasocial personality with a particular public figure. Players give enough interviews/media availability and then of course play frequently in order to feed into their obsessions.

I dealt with a stalker for years, it makes your life f***ing miserable. Moved, changed my phone number, changed my social media etc. Still found me. These people are mentally ill, if that wasn't obvious, and it's surprising how much they can get away with before police can intervene, even with a restraining order. Delusion wouldn't even begin to describe how they act.
That's the ridiculous part (of the law). Doesn't seem like there's anything someone can do about these crazies until they actually do something, which is too late.

Why are they allowing her to buy a ticket at all? Why not just not allow her to buy one rather than sell it and flag it?

I remember coming across this while wasting time on X during the offseason. Among the things she said during this time.

1. Claimed to have a "toxic" family
2. Wanted to go to nursing school (do you want someone this unhinged to be your nurse?)
3. Hoped to get a sports job in Vancouver
4. Kept referring to DeBrusk as "Jakeypoo".

According to others she also has restraining orders against her by wives of the Celtics and Red Sox. She apparently wants to be part of that crowd.

She needs help. I hope she gets it.

Gonna use this chick as an example next time my wife compares me to a dude who did some romantic shit for his wife/girlfriend

"He planned a cute date"

"She didn't let 50 restraining orders stop her from making plans"

Did she move? I think she just flew to Seattle to see them
Or to get some high quality street drugs and an authentic Starbucks!

Oh wow, yours married you too? Thought I was the lone wolf on that one!

Probably, but I would wager she doesn't see it as "negative" or is trying to get a negative reaction though. At least not like a troll who gets off on shitposting on HFBoards (I.E. me), but someone whose brain just doesn't work the same way as a normal person.

There's a documentary about two stalkers of Tiffany, available for free on YouTube, and if you watch just the first two minutes, you can see one of the stalkers read a newspaper report on his stalking and he is more pleased with seeing his full name in the paper than anything to do with the stalking. Also they don't believe they are actually stalking.

It's terrifying. And sad.

Question born out of naivety and ignorance: Are city/province/state bans a thing with proven stalkers? Seems like that would nip most of these cases at the bud (I guess cases like DeBrusks where he has to constantly travel are an exception, though) and wouldn't be that hard to actually meaningfully enforce, no (nor does it strike me as that extreme of a punishment/inhumane infringement of rights for the stalker, even)? Is it viewed as an ethical issue or something?

People talk about people like this needing to be institutionalized, but it seems like we shouldn't even need to resort to that extreme to stop most of these cases from getting out of hand, no? With cases like ex-convicts, pedos, sex offenders or anything else like that, I understand why there would be more of a dilemma (because they have to exist SOMEWHERE and are the same concern EVERYWHERE), but with stuff like this (where a stalker still being able to exist anywhere except one specific spot in the whole world seems like a perfectly reasonable solution), I don't really get why the options are as helpless as they are.
